No. 2 Georgia Rolls Past Oklahoma In Dominant Win

No. 2 Georgia remained unbeaten Saturday with a dominant 41-13 win over Oklahoma at Sanford Stadium.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead and never looked back, improving to 4-0 on the season while Oklahoma dropped to 2-2.

Georgia opened the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run from Chauncey Bowens late in the first quarter before blowing the game open with three touchdowns in the second.

Gunner Stockton connected with Talyn Taylor for a 35-yard touchdown early in the quarter, and Georgia's defense added another score when linebacker Chris Cole sacked Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer, forced a fumble and recovered it for a touchdown.

Bowens added his second rushing touchdown shortly before halftime to give Georgia a commanding 28-0 advantage.

Oklahoma finally got on the board in the third quarter when Mateer found Rocky Beers for a 17-yard touchdown, but Georgia answered with a pair of Peyton Woodring field goals and a 54-yard touchdown run from Dwight Phillips Jr. in the fourth.

Stockton finished 14-of-25 passing for 171 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Taylor led Georgia with four catches for 110 yards and a touchdown, while Phillips rushed for 84 yards on eight carries.

Mateer completed 26-of-35 passes for 237 yards, two touchdowns and one interception for Oklahoma.

Despite Georgia only holding a 307-302 advantage in total offense, turnovers proved costly for the Sooners. Oklahoma committed four turnovers, including three lost fumbles, compared to two turnovers by Georgia.

The Bulldogs have now opened the season 4-0, including back-to-back SEC wins over Arkansas and Oklahoma.
