Andor looks like a feature film you'd see at the theater. The tone of it feels like this is really happening, "a long time ago in a galaxy, far far away."
Yep. I was an Andor detractor for a while because the first three episodes, while still necessary, are sooo slow. But the other 9 episodes have some of the best acting, writing and directing in Star Wars period. That’s just a fact. Luthen’s speech was damn near Emmy worthy, the kind of shite that would be in peak Game of Thrones. None of the other shows are even close to that quality of writing - and I adore Mando Seasons 1&2 and even Kenobi despite it being mid at best for the majority of its episodes

Headland doesn’t seem dumb
I don’t think she’s stupid. She speaks well, has a fairly agreeable personality outwardly if you didn’t know anything about her, and definitely at least put in the effort to learn enough lip service for Star Wars if she didn’t already know it. I think she’s incredibly evil and never had any intention to do anything put push gay race communism.

THE POWER OF ONE!!!!!? Hahahahaha
I believe with every fiber of my being that the showrunner thought this would be the new “May the force be with you.”

I haven't watched a second of this show.
Are the lesbians space witches the Nightsisters of Dathromir? Or are these just random witches for the sake of having witches?

Random witches. They’re absolutely nothing like Merrin from Jedi fallen order/Survivor if that’s your query.

Ok then. I was hoping they at least tried to make it make sense within established Disney Star Wars canon.
Still wouldn't be much better. Darth Maul's race is from Dathromir and the Nightsisters rule over them. The Nightsisters aren't lesbians.

Kanan/Caleb Dune is a great Jedi character.
His journey beginning to end make him one of the greatest jedi, canonically. His fight to survive the fall, closing himself off from the force to hide his identity, his faith and reconnection to the force, his training of Ezra, his trials after losing his sight, and his final sacrifice...
Rebels had some of the greatest story telling across the entire IP, and much of it is because of him.

I don’t understand how the fire killed all of them. No way it burned through the temple and died down by the time she went through the hole. This is a dumb show

It probably didn’t. Or it’s definitely not as it is presented. The scene is framed through diverse female antagonists childhood memories perspectives which the show could frame as being a misremembered thing. Or they use “the thread” to make up some bullshite. Whatever happens some of the Jedi are evil and definitely are responsible for the fire. They’re not clever.

I don’t think the fire killed them. When Mae started the fire and Osha starts screaming for help it lead to a confrontation between the Jedi and the witches. They just haven’t shown it yet. So technically it could be said that Mae killed them. I think that’s how this plays out.

My son couldn't believe all the criticism the episode received.
He watched it last night.
Keep in mind he is about as pro-woke as they come (teen rebellion is a bitch).
This morning he tells me, "that may have been the dumbest thing put to film ever, it is definitely worse than any other SW thing."
He said none of the actors would be hired for a CW show, they were all that bad.
And this is a kid who liked the Sequel Trilogy

She’s dumb in the context of being a show runner and writer. She’s said it herself that she doesn’t know what she’s doing, she just pretends to know. I think she says this in the same interview where she said Star Wars saved her life.

I have not seen the series, but this popped up about the episode and thought I would share here. If it's not allowed (they have clothes on) I can take it off.

46 pages for a Star Wars series is everything wrong with our country.

Since that movie has come out, you're the first person I've ever heard say that on here. Nobody but you considerers Rogue One's tone to be too gritty. It was part of what made it great.
it’s a good movie.
I just don’t need the protagonists of a Star Wars movies to hold eachother as they resign themselves to death. And it works, and it accomplished what the movie was aiming for. But oof. Thats a bit heavy.
and people will point out random character death or the Empire strikes back.
By the end of a new Hope Obi wan is talking to luke through the force and the doesn’t really die he disappears.
End of ESB yeah Han is in carbonate and Luke can’t clap anymore, but the principle core is all still alive.

And who cares if Andors first two episodes were slow.
plenty of people when they came out. It felt like star wars homework to watch them.

That episode was garbage. It was disjointed, badly acted, and visually horrible. I liked the first 2 episodes. I will say I like the Asian guy. I feel like they are just ruining his character.

That circle ignores the major step - make sure their identity is their only character attribute, that they have no character arch and that the story is nonsensical.

That is under the category: "lame"

Don’t forget Princess Leia getting tortured and Porkins getting blown the frick up.
A New Hope Grit:
Leia tortured so mercilessly that her dress is still pure white when she is rescued and her hair is still in buns
Obi Wan Kenobi a guy we have known for 23 minutes disappears.
Porkins a pilot who spends half his screen time crashing crashes.
Rogue One: the 2 leads hold eachother as they are vaporized on screen by the death star.
I mean… it’s just not comparable.
