Spending 30m on next years backup keeper - who would presumably replace Ali when the time comes.

Meanwhile we still need about five more players this year, especially if we transfer gapko.

I stand by my previous comment. We look half baked.

Iraola has plenty of time to fix it but I fear we don’t have the ingredients for what he’s trying to do.

He’s proven he can adjust before. Hopefully he can again.

suspect we will be selling Gakpo now

Keep hoping we don’t. He has a role to play. We need depth and good squad options. He can play left wing, he can be the backup striker until ekitike is back. He can play behind the striker if need be. He’s versatile and plays pretty smart.

Maybe sell in January and or next summer depending upon how others develop and mesh.

Looks like we’re in for Ismaila Sarr from Palace after not reaching a deal with Brighton for Minteh

Anyone have a winger they can sell for €50m? Anyone?

I like Sarr. Maybe not as much upside as some of these guys but he can step right in and play in the premier league. Just don’t think he can be a focal point.
That’s the issue.

This isn’t burrow or Jaylen hurts coming back for a year

These were nfl camp bodies who were told their eligibility was up and this was the only next step in the game. If they had known they had a year left many or all would have taken it.

No idea what to expect.

Pain

We look like a half baked team through preseason.

Short in multiple areas including stamina.
If we are that much in their head then it gives us better chance of victory. Just focus and play hard.

ETA we beat saban in 2007 and thought it was a big deal. Miles won like 2 more times against saban in the next 10.

This game will be built up but really says nothing long term about what Kiff will do at LSU.

Still always see professor McConnagil (spelling?) from Harry Potter every time I see his face.

think we have been very spoiled by Salah, Firmino, and Mane, when the truth is that we struck a generational gold vein in those three. Now that all have moved along, we are finding that the gold mining business is a lot more hit or miss than we remember.

I think you have to give a lot of credit to Klopp too. I think a big part of it is making sure the players fit together as well as what you are doing.

Mel ready had an interview with salah and he said he was told the players coming in last year would play to his strengths and then they brought people in he had to adapt to. That type of thing is not always easy in the transfer window but Klopp showed time and again he was excellent at it.
Just hate that the business is done so late.

We need at least 4-5 players. Leaving 1-2 late is ok. But the others will take weeks to fully integrate.

More smoke that Curtis is heading to inter.

I don’t have a good deal for our hometown numbers but it’s got to be tight.

Cody may stay - or just speaking as if he will so that spurs bid higher. Ideally I’d like
Him to stay as we need depth for a full season and would be an ideal sub for many games too.
I can tell you a story I know -

Two lsu football players in the 80s needed money to buy presents for their girlfriends for Christmas.

They came and mowed a lawn - one did it the first day. One mowed the whole yard again on the second day. It was December - grass ain’t growing quick but it still took time and effort for them to do the job.

This was all legal as they actually did the work. By the following year the ncaa has changed some rules and they weren’t able to do it like that anymore.

ETA - no sure what they were paid but I’m guessing it was on the higher end of the rates at the time.
Usually Popeyes makes me go after I eat it. This guy is doing the reverse.

Wonder if he labeled it extra spicy?

Would anticipate arsenal comfortably for the title. Win it while still in April.

A Manchester next
Followed by Chelsea
Then the other Manchester
Followed up by a Liverpool team who went on a nosedive mid season but recovered and looks strong to end

A bunch of middlings

Leeds? My prediction? Pain (thanks Mr. T)

Spurs will float around giving their fans hopes one week and crushing them the next

There will be a surprise long time premier league team relegated. Plus two new minnows.
Something must be wrong with me I guess. I enjoyed it - for what it was. Self aware. Action packed. Funny and at times silly.

Season starts soon.

We have a lot of business to complete. And then integrate. I have never understood not trying to get transfer business done early. You tend to know in late may or early June what needs to be done.

The point is neither was Poch.

Yeah but the ceiling was potentially higher

Happy with 4 of 5 cup games. Yes more could have been done. Wasn’t perfect. But winning a knockout game down a player was big.

Backups going well against Turkey

Grinding out Australia. Whipping Paraguay.

We had four performances that we usually are lucky to get 2 of in a cup.

Greg was not great. This board doesnt need to give him credit.

His floor was pretty low. His ceiling was low. And the style was frustrating. He clearly had issues with the team chemistry as time went on too.

His time was done. We had zero chance of becoming better under him.

I would be in favor of Poch back.

I thought we played well in 4 of 5 World Cup games which is a much higher percentage than usual.

Yes Belgium was bad but with a full cycle and the ability to add additional tactics to our system would be promising.
