Jake Locker

It’s underplayed how much Locker fricked himself by going back to school for one more season. He would’ve been a top 10 pick in 2010, most likely the second QB taken off the board at worst. Sam Bradford was drafted first that season and signed a 76 million dollar contract. Rookie scale deals changed that season and when Cam Newton signed his deal as the first overall pick in 2011, it was only for 22 million.

This hurt the Dolphins so bad. They traded up, desperately needed an OL, everyone thought it was for Lane Johnson.

The dolphins have some legendary crap picks. Ted Ginn ended up with a decent career but he was a terrible 1st round pick for the dolphins.

Dimitrius Underwood. He was a first round pick by the Vikings who was cut before the start of preseason in his rookie year after walking out of training camp. Every first round bust at least played some games for their team before they were released. Underwood made it through one practice before being cut and never played a single game for the team that drafted him.

This is a good example of a bust.

IMO, some of the names mentioned here aren't busts. You play 8-10 years in the league and get three contracts - not a bust. Not as good as expected, sure.

To me, bust is either can't play football (Dion Jordan, Vernon Gholston) or not interested in playing football (JaMarcus Russell, Johnny Manziel).

Heath Shuler. And he became a democrat politician so technically he busted twice.

Jon Baldwin and AJ Jenkins are 2 all time bums from the 2011 draft. They were even traded for each other at one point before both flaming out.

Alcoholism issue, not a talent issue.

Similar to Michael Clayton in that regard.

This is a good one. Those Harbaugh 49ers teams would have at least one Super Bowl win had they taken Alshon Jeffery instead. Hindsight and all that, but AJ Jenkins was horrifically bad. I don't believe he ever caught a pass for the 49ers.

He's still in the league.

or was last season.

That is amazing considering the lack of numbers.

Yeah I believe it was Auburns center that did it who had a history of that kind of stuff
the AU lineman was Chaz Ramsey. pretty sure he was a Freshman, so unlikely that he’d have a history of doing that but IDK

Oddly enough I don’t hear of many guys asking teams to wait until round 2 or 3

In fairness, injuries destroyed his career before it could get going. Pretty unfortunate story, he would have been a good one.

Tim Biakabutuka - was a lost bust. Ran for over 1,800 yards for Michigan his last season. Went #8 overall and never managed to run for over 500 yards in a season in the NFL. Was out of the league after 5 years or so.

Anyone bring up Tim Harrington? Went #3 overall and flamed out fast.
