Shilo Sanders Fires Father Deion Sanders as Agent, Hires Drew Rosenhaus

After receiving plenty of attention throughout the pre-draft process, Shilo Sanders ultimately went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.
On Saturday afternoon, he stated on a livestream that he had to fire his father-turned-agent, Deion Sanders, because things weren’t working out. While it initially seemed like a joke, it turns out there was some truth to his comment: Sanders actually hired a new agent over the weekend, and it paid off, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed the safety as an undrafted free agent following the draft.
Coach Prime’s son decided not to let his father call the shots anymore as his pseudo-agent.
“Dad was our agent, but that hasn’t been working out too good, so today I had to sign with an agent,” Sanders said, laughing during his Twitch livestream on Day 3 of the NFL Draft, with Deion and his brother, Shedeur, also present.
The laugh led fans to believe it was just Shilo teasing his father. However, there was some truth to this, as Shilo actually hired Drew Rosenhaus as his agent over the weekend.
Rosenhaus officially welcomed Shilo into their agency family via social media on Saturday afternoon. After joining Rosenhaus Sports, Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey negotiated Shilo’s UDFA contract with the Buccaneers.

re: Shedur Sanders to the Browns - 5th round pick
Posted by Bench McElroy on 4/26/25 at 1:33 pm
Considering how disastrous this draft has been for Sanders, this is probably the best case scenario for him, Browns have the most unsettled quarterback situation in the league.
re: Does Sanders fall out the 2nd round too
Posted by Bench McElroy on 4/25/25 at 10:05 pm
Vegas has three selections in the next 10 picks. If they don't end up taking Sanders, I don't think he's going to get drafted until the seventh round.

Bold prediction: Will Howard will end up being drafted before Shedeur Sanders as well.
re: Should a team’s worst hitter bat 9th?
Posted by Bench McElroy on 4/25/25 at 11:08 am
Tony La Russa has said that eighth is where the worst hitters should hit. The logic is that if you have the worst hitter bat ninth, there will never be anybody on base to drive in when the leadoff hitter (who is presumably a good hitter) is at the plate.
re: Looking back at Atlanta drafting Penix last year - Atlanta vindicated?
Posted by Bench McElroy on 4/25/25 at 8:41 am
The drafting of Penix was never the issue. Problem is they wasted a ton of money on the Cousins signing so they don't even have the benefit of having Penix on his rookie contract. Could have signed Darnold, Wilson, Fields or a plethora of other quarterbacks to start for a year if they wanted Penix to sit and learn.

Can we just go back to having the first three rounds on the first day?
I thought moving the first round to Thursday was one of the few good changes Goodell has made. The seven hour first rounds with every team taking 15 minutes to make their pick was awful.

What are the odds Milroe gets drafted before Sanders?
Most cardinals at the Vatican are gay, says Catholic academic

Most of the Roman Catholic cardinals who will choose the new pope are gay, despite the church’s doctrine that homosexuality is sinful, a Belgian expert has said.
Rik Torfs, a professor of canon law at the Catholic University on Leuven, has started debate with his claims, made on a popular Belgian news analysis programme after Pope Francis’s death was announced on Monday.
“A paradoxical situation remains,” Torfs said about Francis’s legacy. “On the one hand, homosexual relations are considered sinful but on the other, a significant percentage — probably the majority — of cardinals are homosexual.”
Asked about the statement, Torfs, a former Christian Democrat senator and a Catholic who is also a critic of conservative clerics in the Holy See, said: “People I know in the Vatican think it’s a large majority.”

Competing directly against the NBA and NHL playoffs is dumb. Their championship game is set to be played while the NBA and Stanley Cup finals is going on.
Pro execs, scouts, coaches rank and evaluate the top QB prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft

1. Cam Ward
"There's one guy that's head and shoulders above the rest in Cam Ward," a quarterbacks coach for an AFC team said. "He's the one that you [see] a bona fide starter. The natural comparison is (Patrick) Mahomes and Caleb Williams from last year. The same type of playmaking ability and arm talent."
"He's a special arm talent," an AFC quarterbacks coach said. "The ball comes out of his hand a little different than most, and I think he's going to be a top-10 thrower in our league immediately, and that's pretty rare."
2. Shedeur Sanders
One longtime NFL assistant coach said his time with Sanders was "the worst formal interview I've ever been in in my life. He's so entitled. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has horrible body language. He blames teammates. ... But the biggest thing is, he's not that good."
"His college tape looked like Caleb Williams without the elite physical arm talent," an NFC coordinator said. "I'm sorry: You can't play that game at this level. So, you've got to be banking on him making a jump from a decision-making, in-the-pocket, on-time, under-pressure [perspective], where you don't have evidence of that on tape."
3. Jaxson Dart
"Dart is the toughest motherf----- there is," an AFC GM said. "He makes all the throws. He's got everything you want. But then he just does some dumb things. I think if you put him in the right system and use his athletic traits and his toughness and let him throw the ball 20 to 25 times until he learns the game more, learns to lead more and all that, you could have something. But this kid could also be Will Levis 2.0."
"I could teach my dog to f---ing run those concepts," an AFC executive said. "[Kiffin] makes it very simple."
4. Jalen Milroe
"He's a 22 mph-on-the-ground guy," another AFC coordinator said. "He's got a fastball that's not very accurate. He doesn't know when to take it off the ball. We heard out of Alabama all the skill [players] would've transferred if he came back. He wants to be known as a pocket quarterback and your best skill is you're frickin' fast."
Said an AFC executive who saw Milroe play live: "This is the fastest guy on the goddamn field. He was outrunning angles. He's just so f---ing erratic. He's a smart enough kid, but not a fast processor. Has to see it open. Doesn't have anticipation. He's the typical big, rifle-armed f---er who throws everything f---ing hard and fast and will throw a good pass and then the next five, you don't know where the f--- they're going to end up.
5. Tyler Shough
6. Quinn Ewers
"There's just no juice in his body," an NFC assistant coach said. "He's little. Arm strength lacks. Athleticism lacks. I don't really know the upside of that kid. When you put their film on and (Arch) Manning comes in the game, the ball is just jumping off his hand in comparison."
"The Texas kid, I wasn't a fan of," an AFC coordinator said. "He can hit short and intermediate, but he's like an all-arm thrower. He never uses his lower body and he's not accurate down the field."
7. Will Howard
Said an AFC coordinator: "He just doesn't throw it very good. He doesn't generate a lot of velocity. But he's a big, athletic dude. Got good leadership. He can't generate a lot of power, and it's weird because he's such a big guy."
"He played really well down the stretch," an AFC executive said. "He's a bigger guy (6-4 1/4, 236). He has some running ability. I thought he was going to be a little faster. But he kind of came on late. His arm's, frankly, a little disappointing for his size. Not a lot of velocity and drive and zip on it."

Shannon Sharpe accused of rape in $50 million lawsuit after rocky consensual relationship

Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe has been accused of rape by a woman under the pseudonym “Jane Doe” in a 13-page, $50 million civil lawsuit filed Sunday, according to ProFootballTalk.
The complaint, filed in a Nevada state court, alleges the ESPN personality committed assault, sexual assault, battery, and sexual battery, and engaged in the intentional infliction of emotional distress during a “rocky consensual relationship” that lasted nearly two years with a woman more than thirty years younger than him.
The complaint accuses Sharpe of being “manipulating and controlling” and “repeatedly threatening to brutally choke and violently slap her.”
“A woman can say ‘yes’ to consensual sexual relations with a man ninety-nine times, but
when she says ‘no’ even once, that ‘no’ means no,” the first page of the complaint reads, per ProFootballTalk.
“Defendant Shannon Sharpe, a man who is accustomed to getting what he wants, completely fails to understand this basic concept. After many months of manipulating and controlling Plaintiff — a woman more than thirty years younger than he — and repeatedly threatening to brutally choke and violently slap her, Sharpe refused to accept the answer no and raped Plaintiff, despite her sobbing and repeated screams of ‘no.’”
Sharpe was sued the same day Front Office Sports reported that he is expected to sign a deal for his “Club Shay Shay” podcast that would exceed $100 million after his contract with Colin Cowherd’s The Volume podcast network expired recently.

Mikey Madison turns down offer to star in Star Wars movie

Mikey Madison won’t journey into a Galaxy Far Far Away for her first project after picking up the best actress Oscar.
Sources tell Variety that Madison was offered a role in the new and untitled “Star Wars” movie directed by “Deadpool & Wolverine” filmmaker Shawn Levy, but conversations have since ended with the “Anora” star passing on the part.
As previously reported, screenwriter Jonathan Tropper (“This Is Where I Leave You,” “The Adam Project”) has been writing the screenplay for the film, which will star Ryan Gosling. Levy — who will join the rarefied club of directors who’ve worked with both Canadian movie stars named Ryan — has been developing the project since late 2022 and is also producing for his 21 Laps company, along with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
The movie is said to be a standalone project that isn’t connected with the Skywalker Saga, which concluded with 2019’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” All other plot details are encased in carbonite for the foreseeable future.
re: Nico Harrison vs Mickey Loomis - which is the worst GM of all time?
Posted by Bench McElroy on 4/15/25 at 4:24 pm
The equivalent of what Nico did with Luka would be Loomis trading away Brees after the 2007 season. Harrison is in a league of his own regarding bad GMs.

Honestly, I can understand Zeke’s issue if LeBron was shirtless during the layup line right before a game in an arena full of fans. But he’s shooting in an empty arena hours before the game. Who gives a frick about what he’s wearing or not at that time?

They were 15-1 and had the NFC Championship Game won before they pissed it away and lost to the Falcons in overtime. I think they could have given the Broncos all they wanted in the Super Bowl that year.
People forget how decimated the Vikings defense were during the NFC Championship Game. John Randle and three other Vikings defensive starters were injured or severely hampered. TD and the Broncos offense would have run all over the Vikings defense.
