NFL Combine was good to him but that was it.

I was certain that Aaron Curry would be a perennial All Pro.

Greg Robinson is pretty brutal at #2 overall. Think that’s another guy who blew up the combine and also had limited tape but shot up the hype boards

Does he never get mentioned? I'm asking because he is from my hometown, so he was/is obviously mentioned around there.

Sad story. He passed away several years ago in Florida. One big mistake was the Detroit Lions drafting him. He needed to get away from his buddies in Saginaw. That never really happened in Detroit or East Lansing.

Have always wondered what Matt Jones could have been in a modern college football offense.

Started really well too. Just a sad story.

As an LSU board here is one we never talk about: Tyson Jackson.

3rd overall pick that never wound up getting his footing in the NFL.

EDIT: Matt beat me early on. It’s one instantly that comes to mind in this convo.

I really thought Mike Williams from Texas would be something else. I was wrong.

Lawrence Phillips … 1st rd. 6th pick by STL
All kinds of mental & legal issues which ultimately led to his death

The top 10 in 2013 has several guys who carved out role player type careers but never came close to reaching the hype. As an A&M fan I thought Luke Joeckel was going to be a perennial All Pro

Jackson was a solid starter and played 8 years in the league. He never lived up to #3 but not sure he’s exactly a bust. He signed a (ETA massive was strong) solid FA deal for the time to leave KC and go to ATL

The guy had 9 total sacks in those 8 years as a DE. Sure, he was a 34 DE in the NFL, but he wasn’t good. He was a bust, but got a second contract based on potential.

He was not Jamarcus level bust, but he definitely was one given drafted #3 and never even got close to that. Also, is one not typically talked about because both KC and ATL moved on successfully pretty fast.

Did y’all know Jamarcus could throw it 100 yards from his knees?

He was a 3-4 defensive end, judging him on sacks is pretty silly and doesn’t really say anything

I agree he didn’t live up to number three so I’m splitting hairs, but he got a 5 year 25 mil deal in FA, that’s a bit different than some of the total no shows listed so far.
