I don't know if I agree with that being put on TV for everyone to see. But I agree with holding the players more accountable instead of coddling them.

They're not "college kids", they're college adults. They've been wanting a bigger piece of the business that is college football and now they have it. That comes with being treated like a grown up in the business world. In a job, if you don't live up to the bargain, you are gone and replaced by someone who will. Welcome to the real world.

Tacky.

No need for a camera to do that.

It doesn’t bother me one bit. People grinding about this IMO are driven by their dislike for Sanders and his persona and their hope that he fails because they think he’s a poseur who didn’t make his coaching bones in the traditional manner, and to some extent by their old-fashioned beliefs about who coaches ought to be and how they ought to act and what values they should represent.

Full disclosure, I never have cared for Sanders, I was in the Braves locker room the night he threw the water on McCarver, who I wished would’ve stomped a mudhole in him (McCarver is a big dude and was so pissed, if he’d cornered Sanders I’d have bet my bankroll on McCarver). And I was cheering the night Carlton Fisk got in Sanders’ face and told him to respect the game.

But I still don’t have a problem with this. And I don’t think you can look at college athletes as vulnerable amateur college students when it suits your purposes, and look at them as warriors and gladiators at other times. Ain’t nobody going to be scarred for life by this, and if it does somehow come back to bite Sanders in the arse, then he’ll have to deal with it, nobody else.

My question is who’s the goober who posted this … you look at his account and he’s just someone out of the blue … and how did he get it and what’s his motivation?

Total douche move to air this for the world to see. I don't care how he handles discipline, but keep it with the team. No reason to put the spotlight on yourself to embarrass a young man like this.

I’ve been in the business world for nearly 20 years and I’ve never seen anything remotely close to that. It was downright unprofessional and cringe worthy.

We see something similar every NFL offseason. It's called Hard Knocks.

The name of the player is Mark Pope, who originally played with Miami. It appears that he played for Jackson State until Oct or so. On Sept 24 vs Miss Valley, he recorded a reception for 15 yards. According to the JSU website, he was also on the participation list for the Bethune Cookman game on Oct 15. I am guessing that he got kicked off sometime between then and the end of the season (his name is not on the 2022 Roster). IF you go to the participation list, his name is hyperlinked, but returns a "404" when clicking on said hyperlink.

Either that, or he got kicked off prior to the season (he was in the portal on Aug 31, 2022) and was reinstated. But I would expect his name to still be on the roster on the JVSU Website.

I think he did a great job with the discussion. This generation is soft and within the AA community there is a lack of accountability for one’s actions when it comes to young males. Prime made his points to try to get some of these kids to see that you have to cut loose people in your life that bring you down. Hold them accountable for their actions.

I don’t think, however , it was smart to video it and post on social media.

Coach Prime, what an arse clown.

You cut a player, you sit down with them in private and have a discussion as to why. That was a public execution and he had the team do his dirty work.

You think that the team is united after that?

You want to include the players? This is how you do it. This happened when I was in college. Coach was looking to dismiss a player due to multiple team rules violations. He called a meeting with the Leadership Committee, discussed the situation and wanted our input. Made it clear the decision was ultimately his because as Head Coach it was his responsibility and he didn't want to put the burden of that decision on the players but wanted our input because it was our team. We motioned to cut the player.

Good luck CU. I'll enjoy watching the dumpster fire. Coach Prime will be out inside 4 years.

Why does everything with Deion have to be recorded? Apparently he has one of his sons who is recording his every move at all times. I don’t have a problem with how he handled this, but it’s just weird that it all has to be recorded.

1. prime had his mind made up and put his thumb on the scale. Like 5 kids spoke up and 1 of them said get rid of him. Prime argued with every other kid and coach who told him to give another chance or think about it. At that point if your in the fence you’re not sticking your neck out for this guy.

2. This was done for the camera and to remind the team he can dismiss them if the frick up. It’s an ego power move like all public executions.

what did young Pope do that warranted such theatrics on Deion's part?
