I am upset because Drinkwitz still can't elevate the team to a top 15. Only 1 time then the bottom fell off.
2026 Future Power Rankings Every Team
Posted by TrueLefty on 7/8/26 at 7:32 am
Florida is for real at 20 for first time HC. They got Missouri right at 29. Ole Miss is ranked pretty high for a first year HC at 12.
Once again, teams will be evaluated in the following categories:
Quarterback situation
Offensive line/defensive line outlook
Roster management
Star power (All-Americans, national award contenders, all-conference contenders)
Coaching staff
Here's a look at how every Power 4 team stacks up through the 2027 season in the Future Power Rankings model:

re: If Lane Kiffin misses the playoffs this year, what will be the reaction of LSU fans?

Well my view is it would be an underperformance if he goes 9-3 and misses the playoff but not a huge deal. If LSU beats Ole Miss I would be really surprised if he missed the playoff.
Don't worry about LSU being the team to beat. It's like that almost every year.
re: If State fires Lebby this season, do they go after Mullen?

Should have called mullen when Coach Leach passed away.
What?! No way! Mullen wasn't ready to get back to coaching again in the SEC. If you were talking about LSU, UGA, or Alabama then that would be something.

TL;DR version of the article:
Billy Napier, “theCAW was right about me.”
Some Florida fans still think you are a Miami or FSU fan.
LSU will need to wait for Kiffin to leave or be fired in order to lure Mullen to LSU.

Mizzou would have to be crazy to fire Drink. Who that would be a proven upgrade would go there?
Are you saying Missouri should accept to be average to below average in football? Have you not seen the slow declined?

I think the gumps will sharpen their pitchforks over a loss to UTK more than a loss to LSU.
Auburn isn't beating Alabama this year. New coach and the game @ Alabama.
9-3 is the absolute floor for Alabama. That UGA, UTK, A&M, LSU stretch is going to be rough, but no way they drop all of those.
I am only seeing 1 losses and will go 11-1 or 10-2.

What's the "Brian Kelly" line for Deboer at Bama? Losses to LSU and Auburn, and 1-2 more?
quote:
I know they insist his seat isn't hot, but I just don't believe it. The admin might support him, but the boosters have to be getting squirrelly.
Ice cold for DeBoer!

I don't know about the others but if State gives the next coach the same money support (NIL and extras) the same as with Lebby, about as well keep Lebby.
Might as well keep him because he will have MSU beating Missouri and that will be it folks for Drinkwitz.

I think Sark is in play. He could win a national championship or finally get himself canned. He's got himself a real schedule to deal with this time around. The loss to Florida last year was inexplicable.
Sarkisian is going to have Texas back in the playoffs this coming season.

Remind me again. Isn’t Lane famous for his sobriety? Didn’t espn make a documentary of how sober Lane is now?
Would be a shame if it weren’t true ;)

Are you saying Ole Miss lied for him?
Mississippi will hire a lawyer or two. But I think Ole Miss will beat LSU.

Lebby is a possibility if his 1-15 SEC record keeps up this season.

Also just got an extension. He isn't getting fired this year.
How would you know he wouldn't get fired?

Those two are the two best players on offense.
Kiffin tried to get them to join him to LSU. That got ta hurt big time!

There weren't a ton of offensive starters at Ole Miss, that were returning and would be better than what LSU can get. That list is very small, maybe just Chambliss and Lacy.
quote:
Chambliss didn't know if he'd receive his 6th year so that basically leaves Lacy as the "player" who didn't follow Lane.
Those two are the two best players on offense.

Let’s be serious. The reason Lane is successful with the portal is because he’s kind of an arse. His players won’t follow him from one job to the next and they only need to last a year or two under the “buy a mercenary” system. Brilliant for assholes like him and Schloss for example.
None of Schloss’s players follow him, and none have anything good to say about him either when they leave. Lane is more of a wierd duck but the same applies. Sorry if this offends LSU fans but it is true.
That's why I called Kiffin "Lame Kiffin".

Atlanta really did the Cardinals a favored by losing 2 out of 3. I am still not sold on the Cardinals going to make the playoffs at the end of the regular season. I just saw the score for the Cardinals-Cubs game today so far. 11-0 Cardinals. Man what did Atlanta do to to get the Cardinals offense going again?

Have you checked Kiffin's first year record at every HC gig?
