Sad she couldn’t put a goddamn plant down to make sure she competes in the Olympics. It’s a stupid rule but I don’t feel sorry for you if you dont have the self control to put the goddamn plant down. Millions of normal people including myself do it all the time for regular jobs and she couldn’t do it for the damn Olympics? That’s pathetic.

Still, smoking a joint 24-48 hours before the race is kinda crazy especially while knowing you're going to get tested. Makes no sense really.
The rest of the world is still really far behind on marijuana. The thought is if USA goes legal, many will quickly follow but we have to be the domino.

I do agree this is a stupid rule. They shouldn't be wasting their time testing for drugs that aren't giving athletes a competitive advantage. It's not like they're testing athletes if they drunk in the days leading up to their events.
However,On the other end, it is so idiotic and frustrating for athletes who can't put down the weed. You know the rules. Is it that hard to not smoke for a lil while. In a few months post Olympics she could be back home freaking high as shite with her Gold medal around her neck. But now it looks like she'll be home watching just like us. It really sucks too because i was very excited to root for her.
I had a big issue with a former friend of mine from college because he was high and I refused to pee in his cup for him. He was subsequently kicked off the team, and blamed me.
CSB, I know. But the point is there's alot of athletes who are addicted to smoking for so much, that they can't even put it down for literally just a couple of months. I don't get it.

For sure. I’m obviously biased towards my own take
, but I feel like the easy thing here is: 1. It shouldn’t be a rule
2. She was dumb for smoking weed when it is a rule.
There are going to be a lot of people that try and ignore one of those things for whichever narrative suits them.
The biggest reason it’s dumb to suspend in this case is because they’re trying to prevent performance enhancing drugs. Weed doesn’t exactly qualify you for that.

How do you know it was even a urine test? With all the ped issues from certain countries, I wouldn't be surprised if the Olympics did a hair follicle test. In that case it could've been months ago

So the suspension started June 28 and is for one month. The first round of the 100 meters is July 30 but she can only run in the relay? What am I missing?

Did he ever fail a test? I thought someone took a pic of him smoking, 6 months before the Olympics and he was suspended for 3 months, due to the pic.

Her solo 100m time was invalidated due to the positive test, so it removed her from qualification.
Relay runners are selected by the Track and Field board

She's DQed from the trials as that's where the test was taken. USATF gets two wild card picks for the relay, so she will be selected for that.
