Looks like Woodward was saying he would expect the coach to give the take in the situation, Tingler says he gave a take, and Tatis apologizes for missing the signal. No one says anything if it's 1 2-0 or 3-1 count, I'm sure Tingler is more worried about the score being ran up in subsequent games. Kid missed a sign and did what he's been doing since his call-up, no harm no foul.

Nah, these things are as old as baseball. If anything, today’s young players are trying to make the game less pussified, according to your definition.

If a pitcher grooves a 3-0 pitch down the middle, bad things might happen.

Tatis also apologized for the homer last night after the game. Actually he apologized for swinging 3-0 more than the homer. Hosmer got after him some when they pulled both in the bottom of the inning. The Rangers threw behind the next guy up and it was over.

This is embarrassing as a Rangers fan. It’s bad enough that they haven’t fielded a team worth getting excited about in 4 years, why does the manager have to go crying about unwritten rules on top of it?

IKR.

I just don't understand it.

He's suppose to just sit there and take a strike? How can anyone be okay with that.

And then what is he suppose to do? Take the next one as well and then make it more difficult upon himself?

And what if he had lined out? There is still more of a chance of him lining out than anything. Also, if he walks then that's just another run as well and continues to prolong the game.

The man saw a strike and swung the bat as he should. This unwritten rule is BS.

Basically all you need to know about this situation:

FT2 stands proudly for our beautiful anthem while both Chris Woodward and Jayce Tingler kneel like cucked soy.

The Texas Rangers are such pussies. Chris Woodward sounds like the kind of guy pushing to change their name.

I think we need to get Chan Ho Park's thoughts on this, since it involves a Fernando Tatis hitting a grand slam.

The hidden rules of baseball are aTm ghey.

You have a bat in your hand, you swing to get on or for the fences if you get a meatball.

Lol at Rangers manager for being a pussy

When was the mercy rule ever part of baseball besides subbing out starters to give bench players some reps?

I feel like the fact that his earlier 3-run bomb was a complete laser is being overshadowed.

It’s a small minority that even care about this stuff. Everyone from Johnny Bench to Trevor Bauer has spoken in support of Tatis on Twitter

Having your pitcher throw behind Manny Machado because Tatis Jr. swung 3-0 is much more chickenshit than Tatis Jr. swinging.

I would have expected this kind of meathead "unwritten rules" shite from Jeff Bannister rather than Woody.
