Outright banning the students who rushed the field or charge them fines

Announce between the 3rd and 4th Quarter that if the field is rushed, at any time, those who are there will have to have their IDs taken so they can pay their share of the SEC fines. Let them know that the fines have escalated and they WILL have to pay the price.
Put up barriers at the exits from the field. Get all their names and numbers (drivers license pictures or student id cards)

I was at that game. That was weird. It sucked but there were some in the crowd that were trying to rush the field who if they died I wouldn’t have cared.

That's my college roommate shimmying up the left side of the goalpost. Dude was completely nuts.

Field rushing has got to die

The field rushing didn’t just start, it’s happened as long as I can remember dating back to the 60s. Why are people crying about it now and blaming it on social media which didn’t exist back in the day?

Let the fans celebrate the victory, many times the fan noise helped win the game. Much ado about nothing….

LSU rushed the field 3 times in 2000. But at least it was out of pure jubilation and not for instagram likes.

The 1st time I saw it on TV was when USL beat A&M. They tore down a goalpost and carried it out of the stadium.

Auburn was worthy of it

at no point is beating Texas A&M ever worthy of storming the field.

Has there ever been a death or serious injury in the history of field rushing? Other than the chick Burton decked up in Knoxville.

I've got no problem with field stormings on emotional last minute plays.

I think Oklahoma storming the field after a 21 point win is infinitely worse.

Its happening much more frequently now.

Back then it was reserved for an actual huge upset.

Now, fields are rushed when a 15th ranked team goes down.

the whole thing has changed.

Name one time fans have rushed the field in a baseball game...

Yankees-Royals ALCS

Chris Chambliss couldn’t run the bases iirc he came back later to touch home plate to make it official.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more of this. The opposing team is trying to get off the field and obviously pissed off, then hundreds of drunk teenagers are surrounding them and I'm sure talking shite. If a huge brawl ever breaks out that'll be the end of rushing the field

I was at this one in '82. Last significant MLB field rush was probably early-mid '90s

I think someone got hurt way back in line the 90s or 80s

I don’t recall any serious injuries recently.
