They're not in a hurry. ND brings eyeballs so they're is a benefit to throwing them in, but the SEC/Big 10 isn't going to sacrifice their own for the Irish. They'll join soon enough.
Before you would jump at the chance to have more practice with your roster. With the portal however, a 5-7 team will be hoping to flip their roster entirely. No point in wasting time with guys that won't be there.
As bad as we played yesterday, remember it was against Georgia. Sometimes fans don't give respect to the other team. We didn't beat ourselves, Georgia made our arse quit. Oklahoma isn't Georgia. We can beat them.
So just move them out of the top 12 if you don't want them in the playoffs?
Might as well weed out rematches before the semis.

AP giving Bama a gift top 25 win.
I was thinking the other day how I'd like to see a ND/OU matchup in the playoffs.
You mean a scheduler? I made $70k doing scheduling on a plant out of college back in 2018. Worked 4-10s and posted on message boards all day.
We would have, especially in an expanded field.
Michigan will be the big one next season. Clemson, if we consider it a major job possibly. Still waiting on Kirby to walk away sooner than later as well once he gets his fill.

20 team SEC with a 10 team division consisting of pre '92 teams, please.
I think there is a big difference in Stanford and Auburn.
Went to four games this season, this was the best season for the band in a few years.
It's comical we have fans complaining about 9 conference games. With 16 team conferences we need 10 or 11 conference games.

Someone finally told Miller to just close his eyes and run.
How Yaxel stayed at UAB after one season was baffling. God bless the booster who ponied up.
Yes, I'm including this season. He won't be in Atlanta.
Never played for a conference title. About to be the highest paid coach in the game. Bizzare.
I ran into him at Publix the other night. That's all I got.
