Michael Scott tried to prevent this and was mocked for it.
That's kind of the point, losers are sitting at home. I don't want auburn to be losers. New era, new attitude let's strap em on and get after it.
The portal doesn't open for weeks, signing day is over, the staff is mostly complete. Practicing for a bowl game is not going to hinder our future in any way whatsoever.

I acknowledge the tangible benefits of playing are low but i would just love the message that it sends. I want an attitude of we'll play anywhere anybody anytime and not a bunch of excuses or worry over what might go wrong. I know Pat, and the men like him, are gone but doesn't mean i cant get frustrated that auburn, college football, and society in general are worse off for it.
Or you win 38 0 and show everyone you're ready to ride. That's what an alpha would do. But this is auburn football in 2025
so of course we take the easy way. Pat dye would of played the game.
They ones that don't want to be here, f em. Take the ones that want to play, find out who your leaders are
Except it's almost impossible to evaluate anyone on offense because of how inept the coaching was. We should have played the game period. You have a chance to come in and show, not just talk about, changing the culture from the jump. Take it.
It's two weeks, practicing doesn't prohibit building a staff (that's mostly complete) and a roster in any way whatsoever.
College football is pathetic now in every way.
How is there no benefit to having our coaches get on the field with the players and evaluate what they can do? Yes, obviously it wouldn't be a full evaluation or installing a full offense but it's better than nothing. You come in talking a big game about all you do is ball and then don't want to play when you have the chance?

In other words, Ohio State is now playing at a level comparable to some of the SEC dominant teams of the past

They just lost to the first good team they played against a team ranked in the 70s talent wise and scored 10 points in the process.

Auburn whooped your arse, that's how bad you are... and you know it.
Why would we decline a bowl game? Seems like a great chance for a new head coach to get some extra practices with his players. Especially when it would have been right up the road. Lame af but that's Auburn these days.

If I'm an Alabama fan I am pulling my cock out and waving it in everyone's face right now.

They're still trying to find it after the last few weeks.

playoffs are corrupt and rigged

College football has been this way for decades. Why I feel zero shame in claiming NCs like 83 and 04.

No deserving teams are sitting home.

Bama fans want a melt so bad but they don't realize they are irrelevant now. All this does is guarantee they have to watch their garbage team lose again, and in embarrassing fashion if they have to play a good team.
I was actually just talking to a Georgia buddy this morning how i appreciated Kirby and his comments about the championship game this week and now this. These guys are a bunch entitlement drama queens. You're making like ten million dollar a year, your players are making absurd amounts of money. It's a damn football game shutup and go play it

bullshite. How can you take a team that didn’t qualify for the conference championship and leave the champion at home? That’s ridiculous.

At some point the games you win matter, Miami lost the games that matter. Duke won them.

Who is the determiner of what games "matter"? The beauty of college football used to be that all games matter. 5 loss teams in the playoff GTFO
Somewhere Chex is watching this with envy.

Corch would chime in but he's too busy patting himself on the back for telling everyone our basketball team that replaced 9/10 players wouldn't be as good.

I’m still confused why people think Freeman is a great coach

Brian Kelly did the same shite there basically and got obliterated by the SEC buzzsaw

Same reason you thought Brian Kelly was a great coach when you "stole" him.
