There won’t be college football until fall of 2022 at the earliest.
What will be different next fall? Covid may be less prevalent but it will still be around. It could theoretically still kill a cfb player.

if there is no FB in fall 2020, probably half the schools will be bankrupt by fall 2021

Every BIG 10 President or AD who voted No to playing this fall should be forced to resign by the Alumni. They should go scorched earth on these bastards. This is lunacy.

There isn't going to be SEC football in the fall. The testing restrictions are gonna be too insurmountable to overcome with the added pressure of liability.
I think the financial pressure of not having a season will be even greater. IMO, the SEC will have a season even if others don't.

I'm sure the alumni department is going to enjoy making donation calls. Those poor folks are going to get an ear full.

Lol spring football? Terrible idea.
Might as well not even have it at all.

Big 12 has to be frothing at the mouth at the chance of getting Nebraska and Iowa even just for a year
Why's that?

not happening unfortunately

One theory that's been pondered over the last 24 hours is just how far the SEC would be willing to go to make sure a season remains, even if the other conferences pull out. Sankey appeared on the Dan Patrick Show Tuesday and said that the SEC moving forward with the fall season alone isn't the direction the conference is considering.
"I don’t think that’s the right direction, really," Sankey said. "Could we? Certainly. There’s a difference between can you do something and should you do something in life.

Somebody has already said it. The decision has been made that until a vaccine or 0 cases, football cannot continue. Really appreciate the lawyers who got in the ear of Presidents with no skin in the game to make this decision for the athletes and coaches

Which is probably why they changed the vote to “postponement” instead of cancellation
Nice out for her to be like “oh I never voted to cancel!”
It's so transparently in the interest of self-preservation for her. Covering her arse from the standpoint of perceived liability of playing, while covering her arse with boosters, fans, the local population, etc. Classic bureaucrat.

So, I assume the universities will push back live classes until spring....since it is not in the best interest to have a college football season in the fall.
Posted on 8/11/20 at 2:13 pm to sicboy
There are many things that don't make sense, but I can't get over that 13/14 of these universities are brining students back for fall classes.
Hypocritical much?

Liberalism is a mental illness.

Hopefully players are allowed to transfer to teams that are playing without penalty.

It’s a step in the right direction away from cancel-culture so we have a silver-lining at least.
No it isn’t
They voted to cancel, got shite on, then revoted to “postpone until spring” which is the exact same thing because spring CFB is not a viable option.

well, fortunately, it's also not Sankey's unilateral call to make. If he gets enough pressure from SEC ADs/presidents and they want to play, we'll play.
