I thought they would pull back.
I'm not sure if I should praise them for their tenacity or mock them for their stupidity.

I expect the SEC and the other conferences to fall in line.

i imagine all the fear porn they were spreading among themselves made things too difficult to try to steer the ship another direction
this has been in the works for weeks, maybe months. they just waited until August for some reason i'm not thinking of (maybe enrollment)

It's not a coincidence that all this stuff is kicking up right after tuition was due.

i really hope some FOIAs are made
hell i thought about sending LSU a FOIA about their alleged fraud that was discussed on the OT a few days ago
if there are emails discussing waiting to cancel/change? oh man that's a potential litigation landmine

Pandemics are exponential when it comes to cases and spreading. If this virus were the one, nobody would care about football. That is the ultimate sign that lawyers are the main problem here. What is the true liability of having a season with no fans? Miniscule in reality.

Yea as much as we like to think that they would go out on their own the reality is we will probably see every conference follow suit over the next week or two.

Ohio State athletes will still have full access to facilities, etc.
So....the team is still going to be together, even though it is apparently dangerous to be together?

Did you see that reportedly the pac 12 is gonna release this medical report that apparently has everyone freaked out about the long term COVID effects?
They had to regroup and now are trying to find a way to get back that momentum of everyone being on board with a cancellation.
They were not expecting all this push back from players, coaches, conferences, and ADs

I feel like Nebraska wants to play, but even more importantly I think Nebraska wants to leverage this to get out of the Big 10

if these reports are true, then we have to cancel football for 18 years

Again, they’re trying to make me like them.

long-term effects huh? Maybe we should just shut the entire country down for the next 5 years to be safe.

exactly
if these findings are true, then anyone around right now can never play football again b/c of the potential effects...or we will need much better antibody testing to determine who has been infected and who has not been infected
they won't say it that way, though

I guess Nebraska voted against this.
Wonder who else did.
Of all the changes in conference affiliation over the last 15 years or so, Nebraska in the Big 10 was the one that made the least sense. Big Ten is fully of snotty yankee schools run by liberals. Nebraska is nothing of the sort.
Wonder who else did.

No offense but they are morons then.

Outside of COVID, why would Neb want out of the B1G?
