They won’t need to make the calls. The calls are going to come to them about canceling all planned donations.

postpone until spring” which is the exact same thing because spring CFB is not a viable option.

Hypocritical much?

The incompetence and the eratic and contradicting rules bring the tin foil hats out. Especially since it's dragged on for over 6 months.

. Sankey appeared on the Dan Patrick Show Tuesday and said that the SEC moving forward with the fall season alone isn't the direction the conference is considering.

I don't understand what the Big 10 has to gain by being "first" here. First to go to conference only, first to "postpone". Why? To gain what?

They are trying to be legends and leaders.

In all seriousness, it's because they don't want to play. They hope going first and getting the Pac-12 to come along, it will be more palatable for their alumni and big money donors.

If the Big 10 and Pac 12 cancel alone, and the SEC/Big 12/ACC have a successful season, their job status will be tenuous at best. They want other conferences to follow suit.

Even just getting them for a season of play could plant the seed. If they voted for the season and it’s not happening they’re probably pissed. I know it’s the longest of shots they would leave the Big Ten but can’t hurt the Big 12 to at least get an opportunity

if that were the biggest issue then it would be viable

Trying to stuff 2 CFB seasons in 1 calendar year is such a ridiculous notion, I can’t believe people are even allowed to float it as an option

oh i made a big thread about how "football in the spring" is just another carrot to keep people from revolting

i can see the proposals now...6 games over 8 weeks. wrap it up by March or something

what's truly frickED up is these dickless presidents waited until August 11 and fricked over countless players
THIS is what they should be sued for. Not putting players on the field but for taking them off of it.

Good point. I don't know what the Big 12 has to gain by letting them in for one season unless there is some long term benefit.

Yeah if the Big 12 is dealing with the same pie of money and adding 2 mouths for the year it wouldn’t make sense. No idea how that would work and if Iowa and Nebraska can even do it. But I think both will at least try to find a way to play some football this year if they can

Leads me to believe they have assurances from the other conferences that they'll follow along. Having no season while the SEC/ACC/Big 12 dominate Saturdays seems suicidal.
