In my opinion he torched Ole Miss ` wonder if any of the sports press mentions this or do they just want to complain about LSU

The hypocrisy of Saban being the one talking about sanctity and competitive fairness in college sports, particularly football is hilarious. The guy is one of the dirtiest coaches out there, and broke tons of rules and bent the rest of them, and honestly is the one that led it to this, then when he can't cheat as an advantage over everyone else, tucks his tail and runs, claiming the sport and players have changed. I wish a congressman would turn it around and say, "But didn't the lack of AC magically get players back their eligibility for you?" Didn't the NCAA's rules not get enforced there?
I see folks say this all the time. I’m sure things happened on some scale as at every university. But do we really have any concrete evidence that Saban was a “dirty” coach that “broke all the rules” other than using the thought to somehow explain how he ran a dominant program for so long, including kicking our asses more often than not?
I have no proof either way, but I know Alabama was THE it program, very visible, for 15+ years. I also believe Saban is one who values his image and legacy, and getting caught up in a major recruiting scandal would destroy his entire coaching career. Surely by now something of substance would have reared its ugly head.
Can we consider that maybe he was the best program builder, leader and defensive mind in this era of CFB, maybe ever? Or are we always going to chalk up his success to the Dodge Charger automobile?

i wouldn't think the whole state of each but certain areas are just "behind"
While i live in S Florida and it does seem like a different world down here, Florida isnt too far behind either in MR.

Ole Miss suing Nick Saban for defamation would be the icing on the cake for the entire mess that this has become.
I would absolutely love it. Anarchy birthed from anarchy.

Dude. He was a cheat when we got him from Michigan State. He didn't lure some of those Florida athletes up to East Lansing because of his personality. I recall talking to another LSU fan about this the week we hired him.

Like I said, people say these things, but there’s never been any serious proof to support any of it. I mean he’s coached thousands of players, dealt with many more parents and families, and if he was a dirty cheat he’s done one hell of a job keeping all those mouths shut over the years. I’m not saying any program is squeaky clean, but to conclude he could have only had the success he did by cheating?
Anyhow, maybe one day we’ll get the goods.

It’s hard to know how much cheating Saban did. I just know he was able to get superior talent. Hell, he was able to cherry pick some of Louisiana’s best players to go to Alabama, something almost no other coaches could do. I’m guessing he offered some financial benefits by boosters to get them there. He was no doubt a solid coach, but it didn’t hurt that he had more talent than his opponents.

Yeah, I mean that’s true of most coaches. The best recruiters, recruiting to the biggest FB schools, tend to get the best players. Saban was one of the best recruiters in college athletics history. Is it because he was handing out cash? Idk
Posted on 6/3/26 at 8:16 pm to Tiger2022
I know what Saban is saying….and agree with it. However, ANY coach from Alabama clutching their preverbal pearls, and decrying irregularities and cheating in college football is rich and laughable

You are the only one making them relevant, at this point. By continuing to make threads about Ole miss. I hope you know that.
