The Ole Miss fan base is at an unhealthy denial level. They literally think that their football program and players has gotten better since the best coach in their program history left them and then replaced him with an average defensive coordinator at best for head coach. If that is not wacko logic then idk what is. These people are in for a rude awakening and I’ll be the first to laugh until I cry when it blows up on them.

I'm not sure why people get up in arms about "cheating" in college football. If they thought that the big, successful programs were clean then idk what to say them.

Same with Will Wade. He just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I'm sure other coaches across every other major sport try to put levels in between to insulate them from consequences should they get caught.

I was thinking earlier this week though that I miss when the money had to go through the back door.

The network would love for the SEC to dump both ole miss and state. That is from a direct source. They are a ratings nightmare. Network would love North Carolina in the SEC adding more tv sets. That’s gonna happen eventually.

As usual, everyone takes a small snippet of information out of context and loses their mind over it without considering the context.

He was using the Chambliss situation as an example of how the NCAA is basically helpless to enforce their own rules because when they do, the players just seek injunctions from a local judge to get around them. Chambliss is just the most recent, higher profile, example. However, he's not saying the practice is limited to Ole Miss.

I’m not saying any program is squeaky clean, but to conclude he could have only had the success he did by cheating?

He's a great coach and can close a recruit in his living room. So, there's that. But, he absolutely paid players. He was just really good at doing it at arms length with boosters, Dodge dealerships, etc. I don't know why it's even a question. Saban paid players (indirectly of course).

I think Saban obviously paid players, but so did all the big programs. I don't think he offered more than Ohio States and LSUs and Floridas, I think he was able to get them when incentives were the same because he's also one hell of a coach and recruiter himself. Mamas and grandmamas trusted him for some reason.

And playing for him, he was a great developer of talent. The players bought into his "process". He would not have excelled in this day and age like he did because the players that he was developing would just leave for bigger checks and he'd have to retool his roster every year like every program and the new kids transferring in would not have been through the "process" and weren't developed by him.

He mentioned that literally in the locker room or right outside of it after losing to Michigan he had a player ask for more money to stay with the program. If he can't have roster continuity, he can't implement his process.

Can we consider that maybe he was the best program builder, leader and defensive mind in this era of CFB, maybe ever? Or are we always going to chalk up his success to the Dodge Charger automobile

I think maybe it’s both! ~ Forrest Gump

I would like Sankey to move the LSU game for safety purposes. So their heads explode. To Atlanta. Would be better to BR.
