How does the NCAA get around the fact that it has allowed professional basketball players in Europe to play here while disallowing American professional athletes from playing here? Reference Coach Kim Mulkey's last 2 signings, a pro player from Spain & another from Russia.

Ole Miss is a voluntary member of the NCAA. No one is making it remain a member of the NCAA. It voluntarily agrees to submit to its rules.

These guys are lawyers? Hard to believe that.
Aren't they aware that neither LSU nor any school is a plaintiff in these cases? Individual players are. LSU is just an interested third party. Could be argued they are a defendant, since they are members of both the SEC and NCAA who are the named defendants.

Wow, where to begin? First, the SEC HAS BEEN SUED, so I have no idea what your point is there. Second, the SEC is NOT better positioned than the NCAA...the NCAA has tried to adopt their rules also. Third, and someone else tried to make this point...sure, the schools in the SEC chose to be in that conference but so do schools CHOSE to be part of NCAA football for example. And fourth, where are all these NCAA "appellate" court victories. The NCAA hasn't won a case since Truman was in office.

Seems weird that the lawyer for Trinidad is acting this way. Would love to have seen his stance if the guys wanted back at Ole Miss.

Again, if the SEC wants to open the Pandora’s box, go for it.

None of them should be allowed to play college ball and honestly, anyone who is a pro should lose eligibility for any other sport too. It was always stupid that they allowed guys to go pro in baseball and then return for football or basketball.
You are either a pro athlete, or you are not.
Also, you either honor court rulings and injunctions for all or none of them should be honored (e.g. Chambliss)

If you are talking about the 14-day emergency TRO issued in Dallas County. That overrides the SEC rule; it does not challenge its legality. It probably won't even survive to appeal, since the defendants can move to dissolve it.

People keep saying this, but it simply isn't true. Across all divisions and sports, the NCAA wins most challenges. People think this b/c of the high-profile cases that make the news.

I agree with your points.
1) The allowance of Euro league basketball players to later play in US colleges is hypocritical....they have been paid so they are professionals
2) And of course an example of one of your other points is Josh Booty but there have been many others who went pro in one sport and then returned to college to play another
3) IMO, this year should be the ONLY year that these "seniors" who tried to turn pro should be allowed to return to college to play ONE year. That is simply because the NCAA instituted the 5 years to play 5 seasons in college sports AFTER the drafts. If they had simply done this policy in March for example, there would have been no problem at all. IF you have all the options and THEN choose to try to go pro, that is on you. The problem is the NCAA did NOT give them the heads up that they could stay in college one more year.
