Aren't they aware that neither LSU nor any school is a plaintiff in these cases? Individual players are. LSU is just an interested third party. Could be argued they are a defendant, since they are members of both the SEC and NCAA who are the named defendants.
True, but LSU will be penalized harshly if we play the players and lose the case with the SEC. We are more than just an interested party.

The SEC can't punish a school for doing something legal. They can't assign negative repercussions for doing something that a judge has allowed. It doesn't matter that SEC members agreed to SEC rules. The rules themselves are in conflict with US law. The SEC is currently on the wrong side of this issue

It's a bit muddy because while the SEC is a separate organization, the are a member of the NCAA follow their rules, enforce the NCAA's guidelines, and participate in the competitions that the NCAA organizes. Ultimately, I think the NCAA/SEC will win but there is a very good argument to be made that the SEC is a conduit for the NCAA.
