At Ole Miss they act like the Delta is something out of Gone With the Wind when in reality it is more like Deliverance. I have been to the Mississippi Delta and it makes me grateful to be living in Southeast Missouri.

It may not be trashy but it is highly overrated! If you want little finger sandwiches or chicken tenders, that’s the place to go!

The word you are looking for is pretentious. The Grove is not trashy…there is a lot of cos-play wealth…and there is real wealth now too (lots of TX, GA, IL, VA and NY kids with extremely wealthy parents there now).
I hate to admit it, but the ghetto culture invading LSU tailgating has made portions of the game day experience trashy.
Florida is super trashy.

I had a very good experience when I went during a non-LSU game. But when I went in '03, '07 and '23 as an LSU fan it was horrible. Now I agree it was probably a loud minority that every fanbase has but for whatever reason wearing LSU apparel in Oxford brings out some of the worst fans lmfao. My niece goes to Ole Miss now and she asked us to not come this weekend because she feels the exact same way. Now, when its not an LSU game I had a great time and fans were awesome but put on LSU apparel and the "bad" fans come out of the woodworks every time.

I went on a cold day/evening in 2019. The grove was way smaller than I thought it would be, it looked fancy with all the chandeliers but the cold finger foods were nowhere near as good as Louisiana tailgate food. They dress so nice (blazers, ties and nice dresses, all in OM colors) and we were in jeans and bright gold hoodies. I felt like the white trash there; didn't matter - LSU won.

Went to the 2023 game we lost. Sat next to an OM fan on the flight there. Super nice guy. Invited us to his tent. The older fans were all friendly enough. The kids were....kids.
The Grove is underwhelming just like their high school grandstands. No need to ever go back,
Still keep in touch with the guy we met on the plane for friendly trash talking.

Agreed. Not trashy, just pretentious Mississippians trying to act like they aren’t from Mississippi. Been a couple times, and didn’t have issues until we got into stadium and dealt with typical trash fans you would run into at most SEC games.

Their inclusion as a founding member was mostly a historical vestige even in the 1930s.
It's still a neat story. As is the story of their 1899 team.
