Old Mississippi people hated on me both times I visited, so I am done giving them the benefit of the doubt. They’re truly awful people that honestly feel they’re better than others.

Then my guess is that you brought it on yourselves. We always welcome opposing fans into our tent, even Tigahs. But there’s always a few walking around that can’t differentiate between good natured cheering for your team and lewd trashy smack talking.

I would...we made the trip in '07 (the day ULM beat Saban at Bama), the tailgating was a joke with too many dumb rules to keep up with as far as drinks and cups and other nonsense.
Everyone from Ole Myth treated us like shite and after we whooped em, we returned to our tailgate to find all of our setups trashed! Flag poles broken down, beds of trucks emptied and thrown all over the ground etc. Their campus police rode up on dirt bikes and basically said..."it's LSU stuff on the campus at Ole Miss, what did you expect"!
So yeah, the whole place was trashy...especially their stupid little "grove" and the cold chicken fingers.

You can literally leave your keys in your car in Compton as well - that doesn't mean the car won't be stolen.
I was at the UT/Ole Miss game years ago when UT opened a can (before they joined the SEC) and some "locals" ran through all of the UT tailgates during the game and completely tore them up, so let's not pretend The Grove is a gentile place.

Here are the cited reasons.
Sewanee - struggled to be competitive in football (going winless in conference play) and chose to de-emphasize varsity athletics to focus on academics.
Georgia Tech - Head coach Bobby Dodd had friction with other conference members, and the school wanted to place a greater emphasis on academics over big-time athletics. (Part of that sounds familiar
) Tulane - wanted to play a more national schedule and de-emphasize its athletic program's heavy focus on major football competition.

I was in The Grove last year and certainly wouldn’t characterize it as trashy . The people were really friendly although this year walking around in my LSU gear may be more dangerous!
