Since Willie Sims passed last week, I'll mention this one.
I think back to a game vs Kentucky. I don't think LSU had ever beaten Ky until this game. We had staid close and the game had gone into overtime. If my memory is correct, our starting five had fouled out. With Sims carrying the team, LSU won with our second team in overtime.

Underrated game: 94-95 Ole Miss. Came from 13 down in the final 2 minutes to steal one in overtime in front of a packed house. Randy Livingston went the length of the floor for the game tying lay up with a second left to send it to OT.

Unfortunately it was a loss. Playing Georgia at home, LSU up by one with one second left to play and LSU was throwing the ball in bounds under the Georgia basket. Can’t remember who from LDU threw the ball in but they just launched it down court and no one touched it. Georgia got the ball under their basket, threw it is to a guy named Anderson and he buried the shot from the corner for a Georgia win. That sucked to see in person.

Many, but I threw the fist tennis ball at Dwayne Schintzius, then dozens followed So I'll go with that in in '89.

One of the more memorable recent games for me was the 2019 game against Vanderbilt. The actual game itself wasn't that memorable. It was a blowout win of a terrible Vanderbilt team. However, it did secure LSU's first SEC Championship in 10 years.

What made it memorable was it was played a few days after the yahoo story broke and Wade was suspended by Alleva. The PMAC was full in anticipation of LSU wining the SEC. But with Wade's suspension it turned into a Joe Alleva hate fest. Literally before and during every break in the action the crowd was spewing hate at Alleva. It was as if the crowd was literally just waiting for timeouts so they could start chanting and yelling at Alleva again. No one cared about the music the band/DJ was playing during the break. No one cared about the "dance cam", or any other thing being shown on the video board or taking place on the court during the time out. It was just non-stop yelling at Alleva.

To his credit, Joe showed up to the game and sat in his seat (at least for the first half) while being jeered relentlessly. On the one hand I understood, and shared in the crowd's anger. But on the other I could not imagine what it must have been like to sit there and have 10k+ people screaming hate at you all game long.

We could look back one day and see that was a huge turning point for the athletic program as a whole as I fully believe the amount of vitriol directed at Alleva that night directly created the groundswell to get him fired soon thereafter.

Since he was the sixth man, how many of those were in overtime.

Anthony Wilson's shot to beat then Memphis State University. They had Bedford, Holmes, and Askew. I was there. It got loud in the DeafDome!
