Hopefully they would tear down and build in the same spot. It would really suck to build it somewhere else’s it’s such a good location

Wouldn’t mind having a venue that could host concerts and other events so the university could generate revenue outside of athletics.

PMAC has hosted TONS of concerts.

It’s terrible. I just got back from ole miss and the Pavilion. That place was phenomenal. Premium seating, all sorts of amenities. You could see the court from the concourse. They had sofa seating areas and high top tables around the concourse with big screen TVs.
Huge club level behind the benches. The student section was the first 5 rows on 3 sides of the court.
And the best....... the media was no where to be seen.

The first thing that will be done is the renovation and addition to the basketball training/practice facility. The need is to get all basketball operations in one place. Now they have to go to three separate buildings for coaches offices, practice court, weight training, and rehab. Fund raising is currently being done.

Any major change or replacement of the PMAC will be years down the line. It has been a while since I've heard anything about the plans for the PMAC, but some preliminary studies have been done. It seems like it could be $75 to $150 million to renovate the PMAC and at least double to build a new arena. It sounded like renovation would be the most likely choice, but things may have changed and could change going forward.

Build track and field brand new facilities near tennis and the box and then build brand new stadium at Nicholson, N Stadium. When it opens, you blow up PMAC and make it into a “championship plaza”.

Winner.

The Pavillion
Auburn Arena
Thompson-Boling
Bud Walton
Rupp
O'Connell (post update)

All are vastly superior to the PMAC

Mississippi State is planning renovations to the Hump as well.

LSU is easily in the bottom 4 or 5 arenas in the league right now

IMO, Wade has lost most of his leverage on making demands for new buildings, etc. Until he is no longer considered "damaged goods" by the rest of college basketball, he needs to keep his head down and win. Winning cures all.

My point is that those little wiretaps have pushed the timeline way out.

I agree. But if LSU can finish at or near the top of the SEC this season AND put together at least a few wins in the NCAAT, his leverage will start to increase and don't think for one second he wouldn't start to try to squeeze LSU by entertaining other openings. Assuming Wade can keep winning, it will be just a matter of if LSU wants to be proactive or reactive

Texas is building a new Basketball arena. Cost $338 million. All financed by boosters.

We at LSU do not have the capacity to do,this. Some day we will get a new arena. Have no idea how we will fund $338 million.

Texas AM spent $450 million upgrading its football stadium. We do not, have that kind of money either.
