quote:thanks - you are probably right. It seems it should have lasted longer, but 13 years seems to be about average- I guess it could be because of my age 13 years seems pretty recent, lol. I presume if I had actually done some maintenance I could have gotten a lot more.
If it made 13yrs I would be pleased and just replace it. Being in the garage it should be an easy job also.
Let’s talk water heaters and maintenance

I have a GE Geospring hybrid water heater that we got 13 years ago. It has/is working great. However we have been negligent in maintaining it. We’ve never done anything to it but keep the filter clean. We have never flushed it out or done anything else to it. This past week after my son took one of his patented long showers I noticed it leaking in the garage. This is the first time it’s done this. It’s not constant but only when under demand as it did it once again. After my wife took a long shower. It’s like maybe a quart of water and then it’s done. It has a drain line that runs to the outside and after the first leak I noticed it was clogged up with dirt and roots from some ferns growing nearby. When I cleared that out some water gushed out. I figured that was the problem but it leaked again in the garage. I’ve read and heard that once a unit starts leaking it’s done for. It still puts out clean/hot water, so maybe it’s something that can be fixed? What do yall think?

Ben definitely just read this thread and attributed it to Twitter

It’s 57 years old. A little older than 25 or 30 that Ben said, lol!

Tigers lose series 1-2
re: I have not felt this good about LSU football since 2019. A breakdown as to why:

Great analysis! Thanks for writing this up for those of us who don’t pay that close of attention during the off season! 2 things I get out of it- OL concerns: if they don’t pass protect Nuss won’t be consistently effective especially since he can’t run. It seems we only have one star at RB and if the OL can’t run block there goes the ball control.
Defense has been solidly upgraded it sounds like but they’ll need to gel quickly before the season ever starts. Since they are all new that will be a tall order. Realistically they’ll not truly come into their full capability until they’ve gotten a few games under their belt and that will translate into at least one early loss, maybe 2.

Because it’s just baseball. They barely break even in revenue
Spray foam attic insulation vs regular blown in cellulose (loose) insulation?
Posted by otowntiger on 4/29/25 at 10:19 am
I’m in need of more/better insulation for my attic as we just removed some trees that provided shade from the western sun and we can feel the difference in the temperature inside. We have the conventional blown in cellulose stuff but it’s pretty old and has settled a lot. I was getting quotes for getting some more blown in on top of what we have but one of the contractors told me about the spray foam variety that is applied to the underside of the roof, and they remove the old callouses stuff. It’s a lot more expensive but I like the idea of not having all the crap on the floor of the attic and apparently the foam is way more efficient effective at keeping heat out of the living space. Does anyone here have knowledge/experience using the spray foam? What are your thoughts?
re: Tennessee has dominated LSU this series
Posted by otowntiger on 4/27/25 at 4:37 am
Agreed. LSU was very lucky in game one after being dominated for 8 1/2 innings and were obviously dominated the entire game 2. Never even close. They appear to be the better team across the board.

Why were the stands so empty? Is attendance an issue these days?

In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson. Just finished Devil in the White City by Larson -great read. He also wrote Isaac’s Storm- great non fiction books.

The players still have to be coached up and put in a position to be successful and that's not happening with McMahon.
re: I’m Depressed

I totally agree with the op. It really sucks that men’s bb sucks. And it is absolutely a joke the McMahon is getting another year. He is currently the worst coach in the wholeAthletic Dept and dare I say the worst basketball coach we’ve ever had. And what do we do? Keep him on and give him a bunch of nil money to go squander. I don’t know who Woodward is trying to fool.
re: Men’s BBall invest more into NIL
Posted by otowntiger on 3/24/25 at 3:40 pm
quote:agreed. He has already proven that he can’t get it done at LSU. Another year will be more time and money wasted.
The question I have is, why are we bringing MM back in the first place? It makes ZERO sense…
re: Woodward will never be forgiven for what he has done to LSU basketball
Posted by otowntiger on 3/20/25 at 2:29 am
So I guess it’s official? We’re keeping McMahon?
re: When did LSU fans become so invested in MBB??
Posted by otowntiger on 3/17/25 at 8:33 pm
quote:lol! Tell me you’re under 30 without telling me you’re under 30. LSU’s basketball success way pre-dates the baseball success. Besides basketball nationally is way more popular and lucrative than baseball.
Basketball at lsu has always been an afterthought to football and baseball
