Wasn't part of Wades requests also basketball only facilities with better proximity to each other?

In a perfect financial world, I would build an auxiliary dining hall in the location of the old tiger stadium weight room since most facilities now have personal training areas. That dining hall would serve the student athletes who use the PMAC as their venue.

I honestly don’t see the need to move on from the PMAC. It has been upgraded a little recently and with the new Jumbotron, it’s pretty nice in there. The location is so good and it’s plenty big enough...if they wanted to remodel it, that would ok. But it would suck if they tore it down and moved built somewhere else.

nothing wrong with the Pmac

What are you on? The seats everywhere not in the 100s are a joke re: leg room, the sightlines are pretty awful in spots, also the seating is so so far away from the court... go to a real modern arena and then tell me the PMAC is okay

The jumbotron can be installed in a new arena, but at worst they need to take the PMAC to the studs and start over

PMAC should be a concert venue. If it can possibly be salvaged (rather than new construction), do it. Heaven forbid we get another fricking "plaza" for rich folks to slap their names on.

The new track/new arena idea is where it's at IMO.

Also, for all you ppl crying about rich folks getting suites, you do understand that premium seating brings in massive revenue right? You use that to pay good coaches, upgrade facilities, etc. It's sort of important.

Agreed. I don’t remember where there mentioned the new track would be. During the Peach Bowl and National Championship activities. Memory was a little hazy.

Build a new Arena on/near campus kind of like they did with Alex Box, then tear down the PMAC turn it into another building or parking.

Not sure why this only got one upvote. Not a bad idea. The old PMAC can become a tailgating plaza—great place to host gameday.

It’s a pretty shitty arena. Goes way beyond ‘suites for rich dudes’.

I’d like something similar to UH new facility. That place is amazing and loud.

When Okie State redid their arena a few years ago they built it from the outside in and didn't miss any games.

Everytime this idea gets brought up, it's popular. TAF needs to take notice. It would be a long term plan, but would be great.

While it’s great in theory, the funding needs to be in place for everything. Realistically it would cost north of $150m to do all of this and 3-4 years. Do the powers that be think it’s A viable option while also having to put money back into Death Valley and the box is going to need maintenance soon.
