I don't like any of this, either, but this particular thing shouldn't happen again after this year, at least. From now on, if you declare before your fifth year for the draft, you can't say it was unfair that others got a fifth year, and you couldn't, because the rule changed right after you declared. Now that the rules are in place, if you declare, there SHOULDN'T be a way to come back to college after you've already entered the NFL.

Welcome to the new University of LSU, (Sponsored by Woodside Energy) a proud member of the SEPC. (Southeastern Professional Conference)

While it's currently in its present form, we're all playing by the same rules, so do whatever you have to do to win.

This season is the only one left before the 5-year eligibility rule kicks in next season. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the season! Geaux Tigers! ???? #Season #Eligibility #Tigers

Unfortunately, we that give a shite about this are in the minority apparently because CFB isn’t listening to us. They don’t hear that we no longer care for the sport like we once did. And it doesn’t look like it’s affecting advertising and viewership much.

They don’t mind catering to the younger generations who dont share our history with CFB. It will never be the same and many of us will continue to feel disjointed from the sport vs at one time being connected at the hip with it, living and breathing it with it throughout the years. Fts

So, what about Indiana and Texas who have already signed players in the exact same situation?

Did someone lose a last minute roster spot to make room for him? I would assume so, and if so, do we know who was cut yet?

That’s a part of this that irks me a bit given these additions are so late.

That said, this is where college football is at today and if you don’t play the game, you’ll be left behind. So I understand it and will root for him as well.

There are no rules. LSU players are pros.

It has NEVER been amateur athletics. The athletes have always been paid, now it’s all
Out in the open with NIL.

Either adapt or get left behind and thankfully we have a coach that is at the forefront of it.

The ones crying are always the ones that refuse to adapt or incapable of doing the job now with the changes.

Agree. This is a bad look and everyone here would agree if this happened at another SEC school. LSU didn't have to sign this guy.

Being a whore is fun until you either get syphilis or your pimp or John decides to beat you.

Texas has always been an organization that whore out. Indiana with Cignetti is becoming that way too.

The collegiate athletics you are talking about died in 2020.

This is no longer amateur athletics. There is no more pride for the school you choose (ala JD1+4). It’s nothing but dollars and how much the schools can pay these kids. Nothing more.

At this point, it’s a pro game anyway. When all the money was under the table and behind closed doors, you could at least pretend like it was still about school pride.

You are a sandy vagina. This is an exception made because of a rule change. If you took the time to actually understand why this is happening, you wouldn’t be acting like a full blown Karen

I mean, Chambliss basically has the same arrangement, he just never entered the draft.

Chambliss isn't the same argument. He is getting a 6th season. Thats not 5 for 5.

I don’t blame the players one bit. We are the suckers. Or better yet, whoever is writing these checks.
