I'm still a little gun shy on our defense against running quarterbacks.

I think we will win but I think it will be close. Hopefully I'm wrong and they vompkety shut them down.

I’m ambivalent. On one hand, I’m used to LSU being the spring board for some other quarterback’s heisman campaign.

On the other hand, I feel like our leadership is much, much better at not being “surprised” by something the other team plans to do.

I think we win but I’m nervous of course.

Lower scoring win that we ultimately grind out.

I think the running game for us will be really good/creative and we will run Leavitt.

Top 5 offense vs bottom 5 defense when we have the ball makes this a lot less close than people think.

I just think the coaching is going to be the difference, both in scheme and adjustments

I think the offenses are comparable, but they are facing drastically different tests.

I think we struggle to run other than Leavitt scrambles, but TreyDez, Winnie, and the WRs carve them up. Their pass D is pretty bad. I don’t see them keeping us under 30.

I think OM will struggle to do much, but Chambliss will uncork enough magic to get to 17-20.

We’ll be attacking their secondary. Inexperienced d backs. If we can establish some sort of run game, Sam should have a big game. 31-24 Tigers

Our defense is better than 2019 and our offense is not even close to 2019, in scheme or talent. We don’t have a Burrow, Chase or Jefferson on this team.

Truth is, we’ve played 2 bad teams. We really don’t know exactly who we are yet. Defense looks lights out. This weekend will be be the best test.

Ole Miss QB1, RB1 and WR1 are all better than ours. Our defense is ridiculously better than theirs.

Ole miss scored 24 on LSU last year. If Ole Miss defense doesn’t score I’d be very surprised if they can hit that number against this defense.

Match-Ups:

Coaching staffs: LSU

LSU O-Line vs OM D-Line: Ole Miss
LSU D-Line vs OM O-Line: LSU

LSU front 7 vs OM Skill Players: Draw because of Chambliss

LSU Skill players vs OM front 7: LSU

Special teams: OM (their kicker is legit)

LSU receivers vs OM DBs: LSU
LSU DBs vs OM receivers: LSU

QBs: OM (though I don’t think the gap is that great - both are playoff quarterbacks)

Obviously home field goes to OM.

In the end, they are Ole Miss and we are LSU. They are on the decline, we are on the rise.

LSU leads 21-13 at half.

LSU wins 49-20.

Reason: The LSU staff is better and has better players. It’s possible the defense presents a significant advantage for LSU. I think the Ole Miss defense is not nearly as good as last two years.

What’s your expected outcome of the ole miss game, putting aside emotions and trying to rely on pure.facts? Hard to keep emotions out of this and I go back and forth but at the end of the day I just think we have a better team and coaching staff. No score predictions but just that we win!

Haven’t watched them but if we play like we did the first game we win it going away but like Tech it will be much closer but we still win.

Honest assessment, our defense just might be better than 2019. Our offense could be near 2019 level if the players can stay humble and mature. Tech exposed a lot of looking ahead Burrow wouldn’t have allowed that.

I think it is the complete opposite.

That 2019 defense wasn’t that good. LSU had to win shoot outs on a razor’s edge vs Texas, Alabama and (to a slightly lesser extent) Florida because the defense couldn’t stop anything in the second half of those games. It’s very early, but this year’s first team defense has been dominant. But for the FG attempt the offense gave Clemson because of the INT, the first unit would have allowed 0 points and only 3 first downs thus far.

Conversely, this team doesn’t have a QB or WR remotely close to level of Burrow, Chase and Jefferson. I’d even argue CEH was better than any RB on this team. The only two guys on this team who could have started for the 2019 offense are Green and Seaton. Lane will still get production out of it because he is a great offensive mind. But I think we are going to see some inconsistent play all season because Leavitt and most of the OL are inconsistent.

On Saturday, I will stick with the mantra that defense travels. LSU won’t shut out Ole Miss, but I would be surprised if Ole Miss can get to 20 absent an LSU blowout situation. The defense has been that impressive so far. On the flipside, I think the offense will have its frustrating ups and downs. But I still think they can do enough to get at least upper 20s to mid 30s

I just believe we are 14 points or more better than this team . Because of our defense and our coaches . Both offenses are pretty good . But LSU’s defense is miles better than ole miss . LSU wears them out in the second half . It will be a BIG win for the Tigers

I think it looks alot like the 2022 game. A little back and forth at first and it gets blown open in second half.

45-21 LSU

Really think we win by double digits but throw in road game and it being their circled game on the schedule anything can happen
