Time to pay this man his money
Keeping G5 schools afloat should not be the concern of the P4
quote:

Bama made it, despite losing to a team with a losing record week one.

This cannot be extrapolated to any team not wearing crimson
Disagree with some points, due to lack of conference parity and the mismatch between conference size and schedule length.

How I’d do it:

1. No more independents. Looking at you Notre Dame. (We agree here)

2. FBS is split into two. The “Group of 5” conferences go their own way and crown their own champion. (We agree here)

3. The power 4 conferences consolidate into even numbers, probably 18-20 each. (Disagree; too large)

I like 4 conferences of 16, split into 8-team divisions, all playing 10 conference games and 2 OOC P4 games. No games vs G5 or FCS.

4. The four conference champions meet in a national championship playoff, seeded by old BCS formula.
You new here? Bama is getting to the playoff. We’ve all seen this before. If there is any twisted logic that can be applied, it will be applied for their benefit.

Cignetti will get a lifetime extension. I know he just signed one, but tear it up.

Time for renegotiation
Not even going to credit the guy you stole this from?

Ranking SEC teams by rushing yards this week:
1. Georgia: 141
2T. Arkansas: 0
2T. Auburn: 0
2T. Florida: 0
2T. Kentucky: 0
2T. LSU: 0
2T. Miss State: 0
2T. Missouri: 0
2T. Oklahoma: 0
2T. Ole Miss: 0
2T. SCar: 0
2T. Tennessee: 0
2T. Texas: 0
2T. TAMU: 0
2T. Vandy: 0
16. Bama: -3
On the surface, it seems unfair that Bama would get left out while Ole Miss, OU, and A&M get in while sitting at home, but it makes perfect sense.

Participation in the SECCG obviously only considers the conference games. Bama’s loss to FSU may not matter to the SEC, but it counts for the CFP.

The other three teams don’t have anything close to as bad as that loss. Bama was already behind them going into today and Bama looked terrible.

Florida State lost to Stanford, plus 6 more games. Let’s not play the “but look at their bad loss!” game…
If you can’t beat them in a mulligan rematch you just don’t deserve a championship
Notre Dame…the entire program…hasn’t won shite in over 35 years.

LSU will be fine

I don’t care where a player comes from. If they are the best transfer we can get (skill and work ethic), then go get them.

I played against the Barbe/LSU/Pepperdine Nickel Sheppard back in high school. Dude was tall.

I’m Kiffin’s age and at this point in my career have reached a spot where I can confidently lead a large organization and speak with clarity on what I intend to do, with a resume that backs it up.

15 years ago (which was about 10 years into my current career), I could have articulated most of the same ideas, but my ability to actually make them happen was much less developed.

People develop. It is undeniable that the Kiffin of today (even if he retained his quirks) is a much more complete product as a head coach than the 31 year old that crashed with the Raiders or the 35 year old that crashed at USC.

Using examples from that long ago—when we now have over a decade of proof showing growth—is simply illogical.
