I’ve a strong suspicion LSU will have a new president and new AD soon, and before a HC is hired.
They kind of have to. What coach is going to agree to the job without even knowing who his bosses are?

It feels like this committee may simply be putting 5-8 names together for the AD to look at once he or she is named.

The very first thing I noticed. Among other issues with OLOL in recent years. Why is it that LSU and OLOL are connected at the hip in recent years? I just can't discern whether it's a good thing or a bad thing.
It’s a good thing for OLOL. However there are other hospital systems in the area who would be happy to partner with LSU in more significant ways if allowed. Problem is, OLOL blocks some of that from happening. Woodward was also part of those issues and didn’t make it easy for non-OLOL healthcare is organizations to partner. Whether it was him personally or he was just part of the machine and was the face of things, I don’t know. Personally, I think it will be a great day for LSUnandfor BR when the ties between OLOL and LSU are at least loosened.

The big question is who really is the boss once the AD is hired. Does a coach want to report to an AD and the Governor. If they hire any of the named instate candidates the coaching search may get ugly.

No woman on the comittee? Hhhmm....

Didn’t expect to be discussing this today, but the AD hire is bigger than / pre-requisite to the HC hire.

I have no problem with LSU having a committee of CEO alums and BOS leading this search. It’s their money that’s being put up for this job if it fails again. No one would be complaining if Landry had just stayed in the background while others began working.

Gayle Benson is going to be added.
She's going to suggest the Archbishop for AD

Mickey Loomis will throw 8 million at Pavia since he’s the oldest dude available

The likely outcome seems to be McNeese's Wade Rousse at Pres. with UGA's Josh Brooks at AD and McNeese's Heath Schroyer at associate ad

He may be smart, but that has nothing to do with him getting to be the CEO at his grandpas company

Andrew Whitworth should be added to that committee. I trust his judgement more.

I've heard last spot is actually Austin Thomas

I was a bit disturbed to read last night’s BoS letter stating Verge would be responsible for the HC selection process. Thought that meant solo. I’m more optimistic now to know there’s multiple individuals involved, regardless of each’s bonafides.
Btw, how has Verge survived within the athletics department for so long considering the negative issues across multiple sports the department has dealt with and his implicated role in some of them?
