re: Who is Beatle Ringo? Streamer doesn’t recognize Ringo Starr behind him while streaming.

The first part of this was written before I watched the clip. The last part was after I watched it. My opinion changed.
It’s easy to poke fun at someone for not knowing who Ringo is when they are right by him. And then I stop to consider whether I would recognize him. I know what Ringo looks like. But I have this thing- it’s not face blindness but I often have difficulty recognizing people if I don’t know them. Celebrities, people I’ve met once or twice, my doctor outside the office, etc.- if I see someone out of context it’s very likely I am not going to recognize them unless my wife points them out to me.
Knowing that about myself it’s hard for me to be too judgmental for someone not recognizing a celebrity in their camera view.
…
Now that I have watched the video, the guy is an idiot. I don’t necessarily say that because he didn’t immediately recognize Ringo when he took his mask off. I say that because even when he was told who he was, the guy had no clue. That’s just a complete lack of cultural awareness. I have kids a little younger than the guy on the vid and they might not recognize Ringo in that situation but if someone said that’s “Beatle Ringo” they would absolutely know who he was and be excited.

She’s getting her stuff in so people can see it. Is she getting the call up soon?

Another factor- who gets appointed interim if he is fired immediately? I’m sure there is someone on staff who could step up. Here’s the problem with that, though. If you pull the trigger without conducting a thorough investigation you run the risk of appointing someone who was part of the coverup of the issues. That would be one more black eye for UM if they appointed someone then quickly had to terminate them for being complicit. Best thing to do is keep AD away from the public/media and investigate until you figure out how deep this thing goes.

Sure, sure. We’ll go with that.

Is the farmland in the picture?

eta and there was always that sunovabitch kid who got a gas-powered RC car that blew everyone else away i can still smell the 'fuel' from an RC plane i got one time that was 'gas' powered and sitting there in the driveway trying to spin that prop to get it running.
Another memory unlocked, though not Christmas related. When I was about 8-9 one day a package showed up at our house addressed to me. It was one of those gas powered remote controlled cars. Apparently I entered a drawing for one and actually won. Had so much fun with that thing. I never would have had one without winning it.
And another (sort of) Christmas memory. When dad got his assignment to go to England it was a few months before Christmas. Our first trip back was not too long into the next year because my grandmother was ill and she ended up passing away. While we were there and visiting at my aunt’s house, my cousins were excited to show me their gift. It was a motorbike! Then I found out the truth. It was supposed to be my motorbike but we got sent overseas. My parents ended up selling it to my Aunt and Uncle for my cousins. I enjoyed riding it at their house, but I was so jealous that they got *my motorcycle*.

Dammit kids. Don’t make me turn this car around!
Seriously- please take your beef to another thread and don’t ruin this one.

Dad was in the Air Force until I was 16. When I was 4 we moved to Elgin AFB (Ft Walton Beach) in Florida. Dad’s family was in North Alabama and Mom’s was in Louisiana, so we would travel to one or the other. For some reason the thing that sticks in my mind is a hard shell plastic car top carrier that would hold our luggage and gifts.
Not specific to Christmas, but I remember a couple things about those trips. No matter when we left, there was always a large thermos full of hot coffee. The kind with the cup that doubled as a cover for the screw-off top. That thermos got dad through many hours of driving. Also- roadside picnics. There were not as many fast food places then so we would pack sandwiches and chips and take a break at a rest area. Those were good trips.
Somehow, Santa always knew where we were going to be. I guess the military helps their families by letting Santa know where they will be for Christmas since there is a lot of travel during the holidays for military families.
One year I was left home by myself for a few hours (relax, it was the 70s). I oh so carefully took my presents that were wrapped under the tree and opened them, being careful to not tear anything. I saw what was there and carefully rewrapped everything. Nobody ever knew anything was amiss, until the guilt got to me. I confessed. That Christmas wasn’t quite as fun because I knew what the presents were before I opened them. Funny thing- I don’t remember what was in them now.
One more thing- we got assigned to a base in England when I was 10. Those Christmases were different because we weren’t able to be with family. We celebrated with our AF family and friends those years and got to learn about Wnglish Christmas traditions. Those were good years.
Sorry for the lengthy post but you unlocked all these memories and feelings with this simple post. Thank you. Mom and Dad are both gone now so I don’t have as many opportunities to think about those times. Forgive me my ramblings.

I can’t help it, but every time I see or hear his name my mind jumps to the game show host of the same name. Because of that I have a hard time thinking seriously about him even though I know he’s done a good job for them.

And if you died in a motorcycle accident you were labeled a Covid death.
Yep. We’ve all seen those reports. I’m not at all saying that the “official” reporting is correct. Just that VAERS *by itself* is not the reliable source of information that many people seem to think it is or at least portray it as.
re: VAERS shows 38,472 deaths reported. 9,252 of deaths occurred on the day of or 1 to 2 days

Because of underreporting.
Yes. And because anyone can report anything they experience following receiving a vaccination whether it is connected to the vaccination or simply happened to occur in the days following. If you get a vaccination, trip and fall and break your arm on the way out, that can be reported to VAERS. It obviously isn’t caused by the vaccine, but it’s reportable because there are no safeguard against it, by design. That allows more reporting, but it also makes the data less reliable.
It’s a flawed system. It’s useful, but shouldn’t be looked to as THE source of truth about vaccine injuries. Unfortunately “science” has become politicized in some corners so the trust that should be there in the scientific process has been eroded as well.
I like KitchenAid for dishwashers. Moderately priced with good features. We have a Cafe (GE sub-brand) refrigerator. It’s a built
In we bought when we needed to replace the refrigerator when we bought our house 5 years ago. It’s only been 5 years, but it hasn’t given us any problems.
We bought an Electrolux washer/dryer set used from someone about 10 years ago. It was about a year old at that point. They sold because the dryer was having problems and the wife wanted a new matching set instead of just replacing the dryer. I think I paid $300 for the set. I replaced the thermal switch and the heating coil on the dryer and it lasted until about a year ago when I had to replace the impeller. That fix lasted about a year. The dryer was still drying ok but it was making a terrible noise and I could make it go away for about 2 cycles then it would return. Finally replaced the dryer with an LG that I found at a scratch and dent store. The Electrolux washer is still going strong.

8 team playoff, best teams get in regardless
The problem is that playoff expansion isn’t about getting the best teams in the playoff to have a chance to prove they are the best. It’s designed to get *more* teams and *cinderella* teams to the table. That, in turn, brings more eyeballs to the games and importantly, more casual fans who want to see an upset of one of the big dogs. It’s taking March Madness and applying it to football. It’s all about increasing the conversation and viewership in order to make more money. I don’t see playoffs ever shrinking in size.
Bigger picture for LSU if things go as we anticipate

I hope leadership at LSU has a plan ready to implement for the university (not just athletics) over the next few years if Lane brings us to dynasty level. Alabama was able to leverage Saban’s success and elevate the entire university over the last 15 years. I pray that we are prepared to do the same thing and not just let the football team be great while the rest of the school stays at the current level.

Atlas sounds like they took “Ever Since New York,” deconstructed it and tried to use the parts to create a GnR song. And failed.
