There needs to be a real look at reimagining the existing buildings on the current property and possibly working within the confines of such. It would take some effort to move the USPS hub from downtown though.

There needs to be a true, dedicated sports and entertainment district. “Club 44” and Champions Square need to be scrapped and redeveloped. Think of Texas Live.

Build a new arena on the Champions garage space, lots and streets right next to SKC. Have it connected across the Macys tunnel to whatever new entertainment area built. If you tear down USPS buildings, you could have multiple front facing entrances from Dome side and Loyola Ave.

Spend money to clean up the Amtrak/bus station as well. Possibly down the road tie in a street car line that runs right up to the building.
The team isn’t going anywhere any time soon.

Wouldn't go that far. Fertitta is a bad owner. Sadly, probably better than Gayle.

Fertitta is still light years better than Gayle. I’d rather Pels have someone who is willing to try and remedy the problems themself vs depending on people whose sole goal is to line their own pockets.
Both SKC and the dome need new seats or finish replacing them. It would be an inexpensive fix, but somehow St Catherine needs money towards a turf field in exchange for naming rights.
The difference is that Houston has an active owner. The Pels do not.

Lauscha is going to do his best so that the cabal has to kick in the least amount of money towards a renovation.

They’ll laud a plan that puts about $250m into a building that needs to be torn down.

SKC was a $250m building built on a $100m budget because Mike Foster did not care for the area unless it was coming to the boat show.

Gayle not used to paying for quality. Gotta save that money for her friend Aymond and the church.

There in lies the problem. She won’t spend the money because it has to go before a consortium to do so. They let her donate to various causes that benefit Lauscha, Loomis and Bensel. They won’t let her spend any big money on the arena or a front office worth a shite.

Why is Darvin Ham considers a bad coach? Genuinely curious, I don't know anything about him or his coaching. Not advocating for him

The problem is that Pels will name him as head coach in two months without doing any formal coaching search. There are far better options out there, the problem is that they will want some autonomy.

The NBA and NFL have to be hoping Graves is truly interested. He would bring some name recognition and inject some life.
The NFL and NBA need to step in and force a sale, it won’t happen though.

The inmates have been running the asylum for 20 years.

Every single exec has been eating off the corpse of Tom Benson since 2005. They know Gayle can’t run a business and are just padding their wallets until the inevitable sale. That’s the reason why she won’t put up the money on big time renovations. They’ll let her be a narcissist and put her name on any school that wants her money because she’s never accomplished anything of success on her own.

Someone will buy the Pelicans to move them.

Where do they move to? What would be the third market needed for a balanced league?

If you move them to Seattle, then the Vegas dream is dead because it would be unbalanced at 31 teams.

Gayle is not selling the team until she collects that $300-500m windfall from league expansion.

Maybe we can get some car dealership staff to help out with ticket sales too?

They already have that in house. It’s laughable the things they do to inflate the attendance. They’ve also quietly started budget cuts with some staff.

Troy

The fact that he hasn’t spoken once to the media and the first pics you really see of him is chumming it up with Darvin Ham on the court Friday is a real problem.
It will interesting if someone wants to just buy the Pels and keep them here. Because of the current structure on Airline Drive, you’d essentially have to build from the ground up.

The Saints and Pels share almost 70% of the same staff sans football/basketball ops. New facilities would have to be built since they share a campus.

Looks like they wanted to get one more Mardi Gras in as a firm & then go out for good on Ash Wednesday.

Peggy Laborde will review whether or not to issue Comus Rex tickets next year.

That being said, I lobbied our float builder to put quarter round mounding along the float rails so dumb arse riders can’t set stuff on that edge.

Some Bacchus floats have bartenders so the liquor and wine bottles never leave the center.

That sucks. Game should be on campus.

Or, to put it another way you were off by 300%.

You’re right. How I forgot the additional 1.14% capacity increased.
