In my opinion this is the greatest offense and greatest defense in college football history.
The bottom line is that neither team faced anything comparable - closest things for 2011 offensively were Oregon and West Virginia (maybe Arkansas) while 2019’s toughest defenses were Auburn, UGA, and Clemson.
2019, Auburn for whatever reason gave us fits. UGA and Clemson we overwhelmed.
2011, we shocked Oregon- we were faster on defense than their "Blur" offense. West Virginia put up yards but couldn't convert that to points. Then we mauled Arkansas' offense.
But what people seem to forget is that 2011 put up a lot of points too, in every game not played vs Alabama; while there were quite a few games in 2019 that had we not been scoring 50 pts, people would have been screaming bloody murder at our defense. 2011 could score on 2019, and while I agree that 2019's offense was quite possibly the best ever in CFB, I think 2011 could make a few stops.
I think 2019 eventually pulls it out (probably Burrow to Jefferson late), but I think it's far closer than most seem to think. And 2011 could win, if they get the ground game rolling and Honey Badger makes a play or 2.

If Les is still coaching the ‘11 team again and still plays that sorry no good Jordan Jefferson at QB then I think the 2019 Team bests them 14-0.
However, If I’m coaching (full disclosure : I have no coaching experience except 1 year as a flag football coach for 11 year olds where we went 11-1) and I’m a compete dumbass - the ‘11 team upsets the ‘19 team 7-3. Jefferson would never sniff the stadium, and the toss dive would be ripped from the play book and given to Jordan Jefferson to use to dry his tears. Jarrett Lee would take most of the snaps, some wildcat, some spread using OBJ, RR and Russell Sheppard extensively. I’d rely on Alfred Blue more than the others.
The ‘11 Defense was frickin nasty.
Now if Joe Brady was calling the plays on the ‘11 team I think that would change the score to more like 17-10.
With the exception of a drunken college party in 1993 and the first 1/2 of the WKU game, I haven’t missed a down either live, tv or radio. So I think I know enough to do this, still and unqualified dumbass FTR. I still stand by my prediction 7-3.
But in a vacuum on a neutral site with the teams who suited up and started and played in their respective natty’s the ‘19 team wins 14-0 with Les and Jefferson.

Even with the shutout loss to Bama, LSU posted 35.7 points/game in 2011. They had a top 20 offense that year.
I think the model is a fair guess.
One can never really tell, but we had a very good running game and bullied a lot of teams with that on short fields due to an outstanding D. Our passing game didn't need to do much, but was efficient enough for that season other than when we had to play Bama which probably had the best pure D I have ever seen.
Still, we finished with like the 106th-ranked passing offense and even the rushing offense was ranked like 30th or whatever (good, but not elite). I think we had like 35 total yards passing in the SEC Championship Game. The defense being phenomenal masked some offensive challenges there. But we never faced a team that had a passing attack like 2019 LSU. I think maybe WV and Arkansas were the only two teams we faced in the top 25 for passing ypg. The 2011 passing offense was by far the weakest group between those two teams and by the end of the year, you needed a great passing offense to even compete with 2019 LSU.

2011 would score on a short field dur to a big special trams play. the 2011 defense would have to play quite a bit better than 2019 auburn which they are capable of.

2011's advantage is in the trenches on both sides of the ball. 2011 wouldn't have an answer for Chase, Jefferson, and Marshal. But Claiborne and TM7 would give them more trouble than '19's Bama Secondary with Diggs and Surtain only because TM7 is better in the slot.
But 2019 had too many weapons all over the field. Ruben Randle isn't getting over the top on play action against Stingley and they're not going to dominate possession and run the ball against 2019's defense with no threat in the passing game.
2019 gets 31-17 victory or 31-10 victory.

Jefferson was a better QB than Lee. Yall act like Jarrett Lee was some great QB. He honestly sucked. Jefferson had more potential and was better. The gameplan against Bama in the natty is what made us look so bad.

Did you actually watch in 2011 besides the NC game? We blew almost everyone out by 30 or more. Stopping that rushing attack would be a major challenge for that 19 defense.

It is more than just points per game. What did the OFFENSE average per game?
2011 scored a decent amount of defensive and special teams points AND gave the offense a ton of short fields to work with.
That offense was more than adequate on THAT team, but it was not great by any stretch.

2011 defense would absolutely slow the 2019 LSU offense down, but they wouldn't stop them.
I would think it would be close to the SECCG against UGA - 37-10 ish
2011 LSU gave up 27 to Oregon and 21 to WVU
2011 LSU would run the ball ok, and could maybe steal a TD on special teams.
2019 would dink and dime all day, and would get 1-2 deep shots with Chase or Jefferson.

HUGE misconception here man we scored 35+ in 11 games and 40+ in 9 games including against #3 Oregon, #16 WVU, #17 Florida, #20 Auburn, #3 Arkansas, and #16 Georgia. Bama was our kryptonite that year and we beat the dog shite out of every other team we played.

2011 LSU was a great team on defense and special teams. The offense was an afterthought; adequate running game but QB play suffered against Alabama and even a couple of also-ran teams, notably Miss State

2019 LSU gave up 41 vs Bama, 37 vs Ole Miss and 38 against a BAD Vanderbilt team. To their credit, however Aranda's defense improved drastically the last five games.
