Les would have gone ultra conservative after the game was close. 2019 wins with burrow, Jefferson and crew doing what they did

Nah... why would you?
Consider the matchup. Lee could not pass consistently against that 2019 secondary, and might rattle if he's pressured.
It's fashionable to hate Jordan Jefferson, but he's the matchup you want for 2011. He's mobile and can run. He broke an 83 yd TD run against Tenn in 2010, and ran effectively in the first Bama game in 2011 when he came in.
Ole Miss' qb, Plumlee, ran for 212 yds and 4 tds vs 2019. LSU still won by 21, but the Reb defense wasn't anywhere near 2011 LSU standards.
2011 has a chance if the defense can keep things close long enough for the running game to wear down 2019's D

2019 Clemson had the #1 D in the country. It wasn't 2011 LSU good but very good and LSU put 42 on it with a missed TD pass, a missed FG and a mercy knee inside the 5.
2011 LSU doesn't have the offense to keep up. It would be somewhere between in the 27-10 to 31-17 range.

2919 gets at least one score every quarter. 2011 guts out a few scoring drives. 34-17

Just going to point out-
2011 LSU defense is more than "very good". Defensive speed was off the charts.
They dont shut 2019 offense out, but holding them under 30 isn't hard to imagine. Auburn did that to us.
Which makes the issue- can 2011 run the ball with enough success to hang in the game, and limit Burrow's possessions?

If the 2011 team is able to establish the run it could be a great game. imo that team had the best Oline in school history as a unit. 2011 is literally a mulligan away from having the greatest season (at the time) of all time. Still think 2019 wins like 24-13.

Tua had 1 leg and threw for 418 and 4 touchdowns. 2019's Defense wasn't in the same league as 2011.
It's quite the interesting debate. Reminds me of a Spring game where one team has the #1 offense and the #2 defense vs the #1 defense and #2 offense. Both have an all time group on 1 side.

This is disrespectful to the 2019 defense. They would have smothered the 2011 offense. The boundary corners alone would cripple an already incompetent passing game. 2019 by double digits. Easily.

Depends on whether they were playing by 2011 rules or 2019 rules. If 2019 rules the entire 2011 starting defense would be ejected by half time for targeting. If playing by 2011 rules the all of 2019 offenses skill players would be on concussion protocols by half time! In all seriousness, I think Joey B’s leadership at QB is the difference and 2019 wins 31-24!

In my opinion this is the greatest offense and greatest defense in college football history.
The bottom line is that neither team faced anything comparable - closest things for 2011 offensively were Oregon and West Virginia (maybe Arkansas) while 2019’s toughest defenses were Auburn, UGA, and Clemson.
If 2011 can’t start Mett, I just can’t bet against 2019. Chase and Jefferson would be able to get open enough against Claiborne and Simon… but then I remember the X-factor that was the Badger.
If we really do live in a simulation and the programmers are reading this, please let us see this game.

It was a different era too seeing as in 2019 it was much easier to play offense due to rule changes than go against the 2011 defense. That offense in 2011 was actually one of the most efficient in the country and that was in an era that was harder to play offense. It was after this did NCAA start to morph with the all the consistent rule changes and scheme changes to favor offenses.
These cross play things are silly with what ifs that you can't do because the eras were so different.
