Nothing means a thing until they get into SEC play. The competition is shitty until SEC play. Yes, I know UNO upset a team, but still...
What Musk didn't mention is that the robot weighs 2000 lbs and will be attached to the criminal's ball sack .

I can tell you already MVB is not an LSU starting caliber QB at this time. If he wants to stick around and beat someone out as a RS SR, ok. But I need a transfer portal QB for next season

Maybe, but at this time right now, he actually might be. Either way, we need to hit the portal to beef up our QB room with someone who either would or could potentially start next year. Same thing for the RB room even though Berry looks like the starter there.
I don't understand starting Nuss at this point. Start MVB to see how he looks for a whole game with an eye toward next year. I mean, he already started 8 games last year for a bad State team with an awful O-line and put up big numbers against Arkansas (and UGA as well as aTm). Nuss is on his way out. If MVB sucks, then you can say F it and put Nuss back in.

Except for 4 and 5, coaching had ZERO to do with 1-3 and 6-7 above

I have to disagree. We should 't even be throwing to Sharp. He just hasn't played well. Green dropped one right in his hands later in the game, but he is the clear mismatch problem that we should be throwing to, not Sharp. Sharp has 21 receptions on the year and two of them were fumbled away to the other team.

And not running the ball on 3rd down late in the half was a gigantic mistake by our coaching staff. And then Nuss made an awful decision when given the chance to throw on top of that.
quote:

yeah i dont recall the missed opportunities either. Said Bama was inches from several more big passing plays

I mean, they had another bomb where a guy was open, but the ball was way overthrown. Our pass to Green that he dropped was a much bigger missed opportunity because it was right in his hands without no one close to him.
LSU played poorly minus on defense. Bama is just not that good. I don't remember many wasted opportunities from Bama other than the easy missed FG and a fumble off of a sack. LSU had big dropped passes, 3 fumbles (credit to Bama for some of that), tons of penalities that killed chances at scoring 7 and killed drives, an easy missed FG, etc.
At times even when he has good blocking, he still can't seem to see the open WRs or make a good decision back there.
Hard to believe that Barion Brown leads us in yards. I can"t really think of many impactful receptions he has had. We"be had our weakest WR output in many years I think. A good bit of that is due to play calling and QB play obviously, but some has been due to poor WR play as well.
We had 278 total yards with 60 rushing yards against a&m in Tiger Stadium. Things were similar Saturday night. Still shitty. We scored more points against aTm, but they also scored 49 on us.
quote:

Nuss - 18/21 121 yards, 5.8 per attempt.
MVB - 5/11 52 yards, 4.7 per attempt.

...but keep up the narrative

Yet MVB had 10.4 yards per completion to Nuss' 6.7 ypc. Nuss is the veteran and you'd think his yards per completion would be much higher than MVB, but it was the opposite.
quote:

You can clearly tell the team gave a little more effort because it wasn't the same ol BS that Nuss kept on doing. It was a tad late but this team had every reason to quit like they did against A&M and they finished without getting blown out

Idk about this. Thomas had a great catch, but Green and Parker missed perfect passes to them and we dropped some others that weren't accurate, but catchable. And the OL was still the OL.

I did feel more hopeful with MVB in there due to him moving the pocket and using his legs though.
Didn't Doucet report something about a reduced buyout due to something with the morality clause in BK's buyout? Maybe there is something there.
Nuss has sucked, but to be honest, most of these guys are sucking. Revolt? They all need to MF'n play better. Dropped passes, fumbles, false starts, missed blocks, shitty special teams play, etc.
quote:

And Van Buren did? He didnt do anything better

He clearly can move out of the pocket better and extend the play by passing or using his legs like he did last night.

We don't know if we'll be any better with him, but I'd give him the start against Arkansas to see. He's more mobile and with our OL being bad (especially late in games), it seems like a no brainer to see how we might fare with him behind center for the whole game.
Don't they all have some sort of communication mechanism for hearing the coaches in their helmets?
quote:

Nuss was 18-21

Yet MVB (who didn't play great) had more 3rd down conversions than him in just a quarter and change. Nuss barely had any completions of any significance.
quote:

don't think he was checked out when he first got here.
I really think he wanted to win a NC but the way you do it at ND isn't the way you do it at LSU.
That is where he fricked up

I don't think so either, but NIL is a totally different era and he seemed checked out with his total involvement as time went on. All the reports show a guy who was just trying to be a hands-off manager type. That doesn't work in the SEC.
He didn't pan out and has played poorly. But if coaches put all of your eggs in one basket over multiple years, then they're not doing a good job anyway.
