Ah yes, the good ol' catastrophe syndrome Saban mentioned about many LSU fans having.

Honestly I believe he will. He wants the Saban like legacy and LSU is the one place where that can be accomplished with the recruits he can get, the money that is his disposal and the alignment he has with the admin and Saban himself told him as much and that he regretted leaving…

He’s already been a head coach in the NFL and he’s had plenty of opportunities over the years to go back…like Saban he’s meant for the college game…

I think he’s going to heed Sabans advice and build his legacy here…

It's my understanding that Kiffin plans to stay at LSU for 17 years and retire when he is 68 years old.

Sure he'll leave but that's after he eclipses all Saban's NC Titles.

Dude has the entire SEC redefining what fear looks like --> LSU/CLK.

There is this nonsensical narrative around Lane that he is some flippant job-hopper. But if people actually apply a bit of critical thinking skills rather that just repeat group think narratives, they will see that isn't the case. Every job he's voluntarily left has been for a better job. He left the OC job at USC to take the Raiders HC job. He left Alabama as OC to take a HC job. He left Tennessee to take the USC HC job. He left FAU to take a SEC job. He left Ole Miss to take a job at a program with a much greater history of success.

He's a Fresno State alum and a guy with no real deep ties anywhere because he is the son of a football coach who moved all over the country during his career. So where in the college game do you think he would go? LSU may not have as many championships as some other schools. But it has the money, the resources, the recruiting landscape, and the willingness of the school to be great. A great HC can succeed at the highest level just as well as ANY school in the country. There are maybe a dozen or so schools who are on equal footing with LSU in those aspects, but none markedly better.

The only real worry would be the NFL. However, he's already been there and seemingly has had no desire to return in nearly 20 years.

He is here because there is only one place to stake his claim as one of the greats. The ghosts of Bryant and Saban own Bama. He is here because he has the resources to match or beat anything ever done by the gumps. OM could not match LSU.

He is here because it really pisses off a bunch of gumps who think they own the game of football. Kiffin is a true blue blood of the sport. It's the only thing he knows. I think he really wants to fight the REC, an arrogant group of manipulators and leave an imprint on the college game. He has never indicated any love for Bama

I could be wrong but I feel that he believes no other program will produce players and financial resources equal to those at LSU. Maybe the Gators but recruiting is much easier here because you do not have other major programs splitting loyalty, as does OM.

And I picked up a reference he made during one of his press conferences about merging “Saban’s” style with a little “SCal” style to make it good for the players. Personally I think LK has learned from some of his past mistakes (dumb social media posts/trolls, etc) and will probably always have snarky swipes here and there, but IMHO I really think he loves this new HC job at LSU and does try to see if he can build a dynasty. He will always have NS as a mentor and that will go a long way if he listens and learns from the advice he is given.
