I really liked hearing Lane state the obvious, when said that those 2 five star D lines committed not knowing for sure who their coach was going to be. They just wanted to play for LSU ! We’ve got a brand, in state talent , and a coach that great players want to come and play for.

What a great press conference !!

What a great press conference yesterday !! A stark contrast to the pressers held by CBK. Lane was articulate and tried to give a good answer to each question that was asked. He really is happy to be in BR , LSU, and Louisiana !! I think he is a great fit for Louisiana and LSU. We couldn’t have had a better reset to the program. Let’s geauxxx !!

.
Anybody ever see Kirby Puckett in street clothes ? Totally deceiving body. He looked like a short, roley-poley, fireplug. But he could smash the ball and was an incredible center fielder !!
Back in the day, the entire week before the Ole Miss game was called Hell Week and fraternities had nightly events during the week. The LSU campus and student body was jacked up ready to go on game day.
I gotta believe that the big shot money bag folks were so butt hurt , they were the ones that told the AD to kick CLK to the road .
Just don’t mess with our traditional uniforms and helmets. Ole Piss has about 5 different ones. It works for them, especially when they can’t even figure out what their mascot really is. Does not compute here at LSU. Am not sure if CLK will try to introduce multiple wardrobes, but hope he doesn’t change anything about our awesome traditional uniforms.
“Out with the old, in with the new.” New coach, new era, new dynasty, new traditions. Great time to drop #7 and #18 tradition. It’s lost its mojo. Time to move on with a new coach and new traditions.
Also, “ back in the day “, Ole Miss fans would religiously end the singing of their Alma mater , with a very vigorous “ Go to hell LSU “ !!!
I’m pretty sure that during the 60’s - 80’s , the week of the Ole Miss game was called “Hell Week “ at LSU . But that kind of went away the last15-20 yrs.

What position in the NFL can he play? Too little for line backer ? Safety ? Nickel back, blitzing ?
Special teams gunner ?
Also, he might want to play another year with his little brother, Zach.
He’s takin’ one for the team, for sure…

Welfare check for Marty Smith ??

Posted by Mikes revenge on 11/30/25 at 11:49 am
Should we get someone in Oxford to get the local authorities to execute a welfare check for Marty ? May need a welfare check on the entire Hotty Toddy nation !
Someone from the Cajun Navy has reported on Facebook an LSU jet took off a little while ago from BR airport headed for Oxford.
I had a movement an hour ago. I try for a daily movement, usually in the morning.

Tulane and Sumrall on Tonight

Tulane vs UTEA at 6:30 PM tonight. Watch the future HC for the Tigers on prime time. He gets 7 mill. first yr, 8 mill second year, then a 3 yr. contract based on performance.

Dual threat vs Mobile QB

Posted by Mikes revenge on 10/24/25 at 3:46 pm
Time to state the obvious. A traditional “Dual threat “ QB is one that is literally a part of the running game, running on designed plays and runs 10-15 x per game. We don’t need that. What we need is a MOBILE QB that can move the pocket and extend plays with his feet, like all the other successful teams that run a spread offense. We don’t have that in Nuss. He has no wheels, and his gun slinger arm is not firing on all cylinders. We need a QB that can run for 6-8 yds and baseball slide every now and then, which keeps the line backers honest, and the secondary off our receivers.
Just wish MVB could at least get one set of downs or come in for short yardage plays. I guess you can’t pull out your senior, high dollar NIL QB like A&M had to last year. Look what Marcell Reed did when he came in for Weigman.

re: Run the ball

Posted by Mikes revenge on 10/6/25 at 11:58 am to
True, but you still need to actually try to run it or you’ll never know if they can stop it. Analytics says that you should be able to run it against 3 man front, but you have to actually attempt to run the ball, not just run once and pass twice and punt.

Run the ball

Posted by Mikes revenge on 10/6/25 at 10:32 am
We keep hearing that “we want to establish the run” or “get the run game going”. Well, how do you do that if we keep passing ? Here’s a thought: Why not run the ball 3 times in a row and get a first down or punt ? Play field position with our good defense. If we run more, even if we have to punt sometimes, that’s ok , because their defense will have to actually think that we might be running on a given play, and that, in and of itself , will open up passing lanes. If not, teams will just play rush 3 all night and do what OM did. We really are handicapped without a QB that can can tuck it a few times a game and keep a defense honest.

re: Rant MDs, treating an ab strain

Nuss has been here for 5 yrs. He stayed here all that time and now he is in his final year getting ready for Sunday football. If he gets benched, his draft stock goes down. I hope the coaching staff is not so loyal to him at the expense of what’s best for winning. This S.C. game will answer that question. Hopefully, the OL can get a running game going and give Nuss the time to shine with dropping some dimes.
How ‘bout nnnooo ! He’s nicked.
CLM would hardly ever say anything about a player’s injury except that he was “nicked”. Of course, Coach Miles was never known for his precise articulation of the English language. ??
Didn’t Miles Brennan have some of kind similar abdominal strain issue ?
At least he doesn’t sound like the Ole Miss announcer. It’s pretty bad. He sounds like a humanoid robot speaking and it is usually at a very loud volume, which reverberates in the stands.

More Harlem Berry

Posted by Mikes revenge on 9/7/25 at 12:25 pm
Did anyone see the explosive run Harlem had when he got in to the rotation? He did a cutback, and went at least 20 yards. His extra gear had him leaving some in the dust.
He needs more touches for sure. We will see more of him against Florida, I hope.
