I would think Gumbo File,
Pepper vinegar,
Crawfish trays (although I don’t know why. Those are awesome for so many things.)

I’ll add stuff later.

Also, anyone else’s grandma have this green spoon thing with holes in it for skimming grease? I can’t find one anywhere

Pepper vinegar,

Worked with a guy from Arizona and I used some pepper vinegar in front of him. He looked kinda baffled and asked me what I was doing. He said he never knew that's what it was for. He said he always bought those bottles to eat the peppers and never noticed it had a shaker top on it

We brought in some plants for the winter and put the trays under the pots to catch water. We also use them as a catch tray for our dogs' water bowl so they don't spill water everywhere.

This. People from outside LA only use it to dump on top of cream cheese and eat with crackers.

It’s great on meats, sandwiches, etc.

Pepper vinegar is very common all over the south. It is certainly not a “Louisiana” thing.

file seems to be strictly a southern thing, yankees rarely know what it is or how to use it

the OXO grease/fat separator will change your life - priced around $25

several months ago I purchased a "roux spoon" that fits perfectly inside a mason jar to spoon and scrape out the roux. Tip is machined flat to stir in the bottom of a pot. They come in various sizes.

If you have kids, I tell my daughter that she has to keep her play-doh and slime in the crawfish trays when she plays with it. Helps keep that god awful stuff from getting everywhere.

A rice cooker. Seriously.

Common in Louisiana and Asian kitchens. Lots of friends here in Texas, though, have come into our kitchen asking what that device was.

They're used to that parboiled/Uncle Bens rice.

Trinity. It’s not that others don’t have those three ingredients, but no one knows what I’m talking about when I mention cooking with the Trinity.

Food regions aren’t as divided as they used to be in the past. However, I would imagine it would be rare to see hog head cheese, boudin, and real andouille outside of this area in someone refrigerator. Maybe coffee with chicory in the pantry. I can’t think of a single gadget that would be a Louisiana kitchen gadget.
