Mad max smoked turkey

Use this old big green egg recipe. 2 sticks of butter to make the herb butter. Comes out great every year.
Another vote for Glencairn

Copper mountain is a quick drive down I70, but if you already bought a multi-day Epic Pass then it won’t work there. Better to go to Vail, which is huge.

Stapleton/Northfield would be pretty good for where you are working if you want to be closer to Denver. Newer-ish and good schools. We looked at that area but ended up in Littleton to be closer to the mountains. Parker or Centennial is close and good if you want more suburbs.

Oh no the full day of the week spelled out just looks strange.

This is another Hamilton but is quartz and a little smaller but I do like the style.

Ahhh ok. It’s not off by enough to bother me. I’m leaning towards either the Hamilton or the Mido depending on how casual I want to go.

I still don’t get what’s wrong with the 15.

Ok I’m dumb. What’s wrong with the 15? That it’s off because of the date?
I know there are a few watch experts on here. I’m looking to get a casual watch with leather strap, dark face. Something under $500. I originally wanted this Tissot which I still may get but the dial is huge.

Looking at Jomashop, there are a couple others that caught my eye. A Mido, Orient, and the Hamilton which seems a bit more classic.

I know it’s not the luxury watches that get talked about a lot here, but any of these to stay away from? Or any other similar ones in that style that I should look for?

I’m just trying to test something myself

I think the next twist I will try with chili is to serve it with waffles made with cornbread batter.

Well this sounds like a fantastic idea.

Thank you. That is not the order I would’ve guessed.

Wise bourbon members of this thread, my Total Wine has these 3 in stock in the $65ish range and I’ve never had any. Which one would you get first?

Penelope 4 grain barrel strength
Bardstown Fusion
Stellum Single barrel

If you have kids, I tell my daughter that she has to keep her play-doh and slime in the crawfish trays when she plays with it. Helps keep that god awful stuff from getting everywhere.

Marzipan in king cakes

Posted by Brix on 1/15/22 at 8:25 am
This was a thought I actually had last year during King Cake season but just remembered.

I always liked plain Randazzo’s and similar king cakes (like Antoine’s). To me they are just simple and delicious. I noticed there is a common flavor to one’s of that style that I really liked. Then I started eating almond croissants from a fancy bakery and it had a similar flavor, without the cinnamon obviously. I think it’s marzipan. I don’t really bake much and haven’t used marzipan myself. Anyone know if this is something that is commonly put in King Cakes or am I just making things up in my head?

Highlight the portion you want to quote and either hit the quote button or copy it then press the quote button then paste it in there. The quote button is to the right of the text box.

Thanks for the help.

Smoked eggplant dip (think babaghanoush but smoke the eggplant) or a grilled corn salad with a red wine vinegar type dressing like below but leave out the bacon obviously.
Charred corn salad
