I changed his credit on the JC to read:

"Thanks to Kajungee for encouragement and feedback on the volume and servings calculations. I regret that I could not honor his request for a scratch and sniff tab nor a pot scrubber app before he passed."

Thanks Kajungee.

Wow! RIP to that guy. One of my favorite posters on the food board.

Anyone want to share what happened and how old he was?

TreeDawg I am very sorry to here this. He fed me too at the same tailgate Owlie mentions. You, he and I knew and know a lot of the same people and I've always enjoyed communicating with both of you here and learned a lot about cooking from you as well. Always a civil, enthusiastic discussion over food of all things and shows how something as simple as red beans or cornbread or growing tomatos can bring out the best in people even complete strangers.

The pages of responses on here-an anonymous message board, that he is receiving is a testament to his good fortune while he lived his life on this earth. I hope you and his family can take solace in knowing that you all enjoyed one of gods greatest gifts and greatest earthly blessings-that of a man complete. Father, son, husband and friend.

My deepest sympathy and prayers to all and may god bless his wonderful soul.

Hey Dawg. Very heart breaking. Gary was one of the most genuine guys I've ever met. Free with his help and experience as a master cook. Helped me with recipes, portions, and calculations when I bought my first "big pot."
And friend to anyone he met.
The Oaks won't be the same.
Prayers to you ( his brother) and all who loved him.

TreeDawg, I have had this on my mind all day. I neglected to give you my sympathies personally. I'm so sorry for your loss of an obviously treasured friend. You and Gee are legendary posters.

This is hard for those who didn't know him IRL. So much harder for those who had the privilege of knowing him IRL.

Hard to wrap my head around it.

Damn, so sorry to hear it. I only knew him on TD, but would have been a good friend IRL.

I'd love to see a compilation of all his recipe posts to honor him.

Thank you all for the kind words for as good a friend as anyone could ever wish for. KajunGee was Gary Leblanc, we grew up in Red Oaks subdivision in BR, went to Belaire HS. Our parents still live a block apart and his house is on the same street as my parents. If you want to get an idea of who this man really was, just go find his Facebook page. My name is Tim Parrott and I don't mind you finding mine as well if you wish to find out more. I will post his obits as soon as I know. He and I did cook many a black pot of goodness together over the years, including that very 1st TD Tailgate Party. This little "Foodie Family" made him so happy to be a part of (me too). I suck at posting pics, please do so as you find them. I am certain he would approve. Still grieving hard y'all.........
