It was ok. Not terrible but not great. Kind of predictable.

This is exactly how I felt, it's not awful, it was a safe ending. I'm glad it's over. I doubt I will watch any offshoots unless they start getting good reviews.

The political messaging I get and don't care. Was meaning forced gay stuff

I mean all his sex stuff is deranged anyway. It hasn’t shied away from having gay couples, he’s done trans characters with other series. That’s why I don’t get people complaining about it not being there or saying it’s not there. It’s there, but the story really isn’t about romantic things, so it’s not going to be in your face.

The fact that this is just clearly a dude writing a book with no forced messaging is kind of refreshing.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Matt clearly is writing purposeful political messaging into the books and has said he hopes and I paraphrase "the glurp glurp readers will see that and build some empathy."
Check out the main libraries. Ours in Chattanooga has 3D printiners, CNCs, glowforges and all kinds of other things.

so I issues the DCC recommendation with some regrets (what the hell is this guy going to think of me when he starts this series? He's not a gamer or nerdy or fantasy type guy at all. What was I thinking?).

This series can really appeal to anyone, my wife has never been a big fantasy person and I got her cosplaying to various geek events with me and she was super excited to go meet Matt in Nashville. Matt does a really great job of building the relationships between the characters and telling their stories that connect with people.

I'm in a couple of DCC Facebook groups and lately a lot of folks have been bitching about the lack of LGTBQ representation in them

Just goes to show you that a lot people are never happy. Matt is clearly liberal and a supporter of LGBTQ issues given what he has covered in his books. One of his characters in Dominion of Blades is trans. There has been a lot of gay characters in DCC as well. Besides the strippers, one of the warlords in faction wars was gay.

People get mad there isn’t more romance, it’s not that type of book.

The Nashville tour event was awesome, we got like 5 sets of the patches  We kept two and gave the other 3 out to some crawler friends for cost. At least kept them away from scalpers on eBay. They had a limit on what you could buy and they didn't sell out. We traded to finish most of our sets.

Finally got an answer, not a good one for where the patches go on the battle rattle. Unfortunately, like half my patches need to be moved.

News for book 9, it is the final book and the wait for the next book is probably going to be longer than the wait for book 8. Matt is being a dick with this one on purpose.

So, he is writing book 9 as one long book and completely wrapping up the series. After he is done writing book 9, he is going to figure out the most annoying cliffhanger part in the middle and split it there. He will then release part 1 of book 9 as a book and wait a bit and release part 2 as book 10, but he is calling it one book with two parts. He thinks its funny that way.

Matt came out like an hour before the event and just hung out with everyone in line. Dude is just seriously humble and loves having fans.

If you didn't know, one of his college jobs was working as a psychic for Ms Cleo. I hadn't heard him go real in depth about it before, but he said he averaged 56 mins per call and got 4.99 per min with the first 5 minutes free. He had a demand from his boss to keep people on for at least 19 minutes. He said his training was just go buy a pack of tarot cards and read the instructions on the pack. He said he quit because he felt shitty about basically hustling people.

Yep, designer dogs attract a certain type of people.

There is no breed standard, they are constantly mixing back and forth, heck even first gen crosses are highly desirable. It's a designer crossbreed. No major entity recognizes it as a breed.

Technically all modern dogs are mutts

They were mutts, but a ton of years breeding to meet a standard made them recognized breeds. Goldendoodles don't have that and the goal doesn't seem to be to set a standard with this hybrid, they seem to want to keep crossing.

I'm 75 pages in, just starting heat 2, and man I love the race aspect. I got a feeling this is going to be my favorite floor/challenge yet. Not saying it's going to be the best book but I like the race aspect of it.

Yeah the themed floors are awesome. The Scolopendra levels are fun, but the themed levels have always been more enjoyable to me. Boop

Why would you print PETG on a build plate not designed for it? Especially when the most common/popular build plates (and the one that ships with the OPs printer), PEI coated, prints amazingly with PETG and no glue. Like, you would have to go out of your way to buy a non-compatible PETG build plate to print PETG on.

Cryogrips have a lot of failures from PETG with no release agent, they don't exclude PETG.

Glue stick is a crutch for not dialing in your settings.

This is highly dependent on build plate material. Some build plates will absolutely get destroyed by PETG if you don't use glue stick. Some plates can't handle certain material. Always look up manufacturer recommendations for build plate instructions on how to clean and prepare a build plate and which materials to use.

Got mine in the mail yesterday. I cannot finish this Bloodsworn Saga fast enough. Got 125 pages left.

I have 5 copies on order and none in hand or shipped yet

Two Grim Oak paperbacks don't ship til mid June according to Shawn. Got to finish up my 2 sets of OG paperbacks since they are worth a small fortune. Hoping to get them signed by Jeff and Matt like my other 7 at Dcon this year.

Personalized first edition hard back from Signed Page ships this weekend according to Shawn.

Pick up 2 signed at Nashville tour stop, don't think I am getting them personalized, plan on getting something else signed instead. Probably the jug o boom dice tower I been designing to sell on Etsy. Should sell well considering how well the TTRPG did on backerkit.

I read it awhile ago through the Patreon though and a good way into listening to it. Jeff is the best.

It's finally nice to see something happen to move toward finishing the show, only took to almost the last episode.

Episode was lacking overall though. Gen V kids got their useless cameo.

Years back we were going on our 1st cruise, they said we could each bring a bottle of wine with us. But it had to stay in our cabin, no problem. Local watering hole we frequent talked with the bartender. Some bottles of wine the foil cover would easily slip off. She kept 2 empties for us, foil and cork. I drink rum, wife likes vodka. Filled them, corked and foil back on. They checked luggage, left a paper reminding to keep them in our cabin. All good.

Some bottle checkers are better than others for looking for the cheap Amazon foil and heat shrink. Some will shake the bottle and look at the bubbles or check for color of the liquid, but this is still by far the easiest way to go if you can do a good job or making it look sealed and like wine.

I don't bother with it anymore. I married into points and get 5 free drinks and take some of hers too lol.

Check out Road Bear in the States. They have nicer rentals than cruise america or indie camper.

I'll never understand the desire for Class C's. When I'm camping, I want to leave my rig at the campsite and be able to drive a smaller rig around the nearby area.

It all depends on what you want to do with it. If your goal is to see the country. I wouldn't want to pull a trailer to setup every day or two. Plus, all the road time is much more enjoyable in a Class C, especially for families. If you are just going to a campground to spend a week or longer, I would much rather a trailer.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to own either. Unless you spend way too much money and even then, they are all made crappy. I enjoyed renting the ones I have rented though. Its an awesome way to travel.

My problem isn't the politics, its how crappy the story was with the politics. It was just plain bad.
