yeah it's definitely a lot ha, more than I'd ever consider spending on any other hotel. I'm trying to stomach the thought that if we just do the 1 night it's not that bad. We're like 2.5 hours from Nashville so it's not really a huge deal if we just go up and back over the weekend

Yeah I haven't looked at the cost in a few years. I use to travel for work a bunch with Marriott and stayed there on gov rate and they upgraded me to a balcony and my wife and kid hauled butt to stay with me .

I think you can book packages that include entry to the waterpark:

I think there is a restaurant in that American Girl store too. Reserve lunch and also reserve a birthday girl appointment at the store itself. They get some birthday stuff and I think a hair do for the doll when you do that.

My wife desperately wants to take our 2 year old girl to the closest American Girl Doll store which happens to be just south of Nashville. I don't really get the whole scene but that's a topic for another board i suppose

Want to score some points with the wife? There is a hotel right next to it that does American Girl Doll stays, they will give you some goodies and things. Book this without your wife and kid knowing about it and you will score some points. Girl dad hookup for you

Try to get a balcony in the main atrium at the Gaylord. Its a lot, but a ton of fun for the kids. They have an indoor waterpark that is a lot of fun too.

I was making a joke about Pemberton’s original creation/recipe of Coke when he was selling it at his drug store for medicinal purposes and was using cocaine as an ingredient so he could market it as a cure for headaches, fatigue, nausea, etc.

I was surprised they do still use coca leaves for flavoring though, dude found the source where they get decocainized.
quote:

Did they use cocaine? Because if they didn’t put cocaine in it it’s not perfectly replicated.

He tried to get decocainized coca leaves from the same source Coca Cola uses and they wouldn't sell it. He tried to get it from a sketchy source too, but border patrol seized it. So he turned to chemistry to replicate the base compounds found in Coca Cola and apparently did a very good job of it.

I would be shocked if this guy hid his treasure in a national park after the troubles with Finn’s treasure possibly being in a national park. It’s illegal to remove anything from a national park which is why most people think the guy who found Fenn’s treasure won’t disclose the location he found it.

If you look into the FOIA requests that came from the lawsuit, Fenn and Jack had a lot of talks with NPS. They know the location. NPS setup cameras at the assumed location and did a lot of studies of impact in the area if a lot of tourists started showing up in the location. I personally visited the location in June. I really liked the home of Brown area and get why Fenn enjoyed fishing there. As for where the treasure was maybe buried at, the only thought I have for it being back there is so he wouldn't be visible hiding it from the major highway that runs nearby. No blaze has been found and even Jack said he never properly figured out the blaze. He claimed he grid searched, but from the photos he put out of the treasure, I think it was buried and he was illegally using a metal detector in a national park.

You can see he wiped away the debris and dirt that was covering it.

Treasure he found in it for people that haven't seen it properly.
I haven’t gotten into Justin’s. I was really into Fenn’s and had a list of places to search in Yellowstone when it was found. I had the wrong home of Brown though, but the right idea. My home of Brown was based off a trout book that had wrong information. They said they originally introduced Loch Levin trout (brown trout) into Shoshone and Lewis Lakes. So my search area was Lewis River canyon. That was wrong, they were originally introduced not far from the actual location of the treasure.

You guys might want to look into There’s Treasure Inside. JCB’s hunt existed prior to Justin’s hunt and he has a few hidden treasures. One of them may be a lot closer to home than Justin’s too.
He’s going to need to pray a lot if he gets stuck as a Raider, lol.

If the group needed a beanstalk to get to the Abyss, how did Vecna and all the Demo’s get back and forth from the abyss?

Bats could fly back, demos were always shown the ability to open gates at will. So they might could do the same in the upside down to get back to X.

The Abyss monsters probably because the physical Mind Flayer. It does help explain the lack of monsters since volume 1.

Lots of Demos were around when he had the physical room to add kids to it. It just felt more like plot convenience to exclude them. Physical mind flayer didn’t have that meat goo exterior he had when he was physical on Earth, but more traditional spider. No meat goo tentacles on the exterior, just his spider legs.

The meat goo mind flayer seemed much more dangerous than the abyss one.

Maybe she was far enough way to not be affected also how did Kahli know when to use her powers and can she even use them that far away assuming she was even alive. I just feel like this was Mike trying to cope

Judging by Reddit, El living or dying is the new did Dottie drop the ball on purpose. It’s a war zone on there right now about this subject.

I took him being in the cave as he was exploring with his troop, hence the outfit, and heard screams coming from it. Like any young boy, he went to investigate and upon being shot he was filled with rage and decided to strike with a rock.

They totally set up for a prequel show about how the mind flayer stone came to be there.

That's probably part of it. You all STFU and we won't imprison you for the rest of your lives. The military had other things to worry and deal with and a quick closure makes everything easier. Granted, they probably are under surveillance for the rest of their lives in addition (which works either way really).

No way Hop walks though, his arse would have disappeared. Nancy probably would as well. Both straight up murdered soldiers.

Disappointed no major deaths happened to the main cast. Felt like someone maybe needed to die but I feel like they also thought they should’ve done it earlier in the series.

Duffers always maintained this wasn’t Game of Thrones, they wanted a cheesy 80s adventure.

My other complaint. They kill dozens of US troops get caught coming back out. Evil doc lady doesn’t get eleven. Would imagine they would all get punished but we never get an explanation why none of them are imprisoned or executed? Like the military just said ah damn guess we take the L on this one?

They killed the entire outpost full of people and lab experiment prego women. Dr K probably said thanks for erasing any trace of that, lol.

So did Vecna just seem weak as a final boss type?

Yeah the fight with Vecna barely seemed like an inconvenience. The wrap up took so long that I felt like the fight was a very minor part of the episode.

Overall it was decent and about as good as can be expected from how bad this season was.

It ended like a cheesy 80s movie which works for this show.

Bowls are glorified Spring ball games now.

Not even that, a good portion of the team and coaching staff is getting turned over. It really just doesn't have a point anymore.
quote:

it's the holly show, man they are overusing her, huh?

I mean, her story has been better than most the cast this season. Holly hasn't bothered me except when Max decided to monologue when they needed to escape.

I don't even care that he's gay. It was just a moment with a shite ton of poor dialogue that shouldn't have been in that moment IMO.

I finally found what his stupid speech reminded me of when he was naming all the relatable member berries 80s crap.

Nolan Sorrento in Ready Player one when he is talking about cracking open a Tab and listening to Duran Duran.

This meme comes to mind too, but when trying to relate to the 80s kids audience.

Not everyone knows he was Tom Riddle. That detail is mostly known by Dumbledore, Harry, and a few others who dug into his past. The general wizarding population only knows him as Voldemort.

Names have power in the magical world. Voldemort deliberately erased his old identity to control the narrative. His followers and enemies alike reinforced that by using his chosen name.

TBF, if you haven't read the books, they don't really explain things that well in the movies. It's a fair question if your only source of knowledge is the movies and how much was left from the movies.

Whatever takes 1 click on an Android takes 3 on an iphone. For instance, for the life of me, why can't iphone just add an "attach contact card" to a text message. Like it's stupid, you have to leave the text message, go to contacts, search for contact, and then hit share contact, type who you want to send it to and hit send.
On the other hand, you're in the text message on Android, hit add contact, search the contact and hit send.

Why apple? Why??? Why leave the text message to do something simple.

it should be in the + menu, no idea why they haven't done it, it is annoying

you can share specific contact info like phone number or email by holding the text box, clicking autofill, contacts, find contact then pick which part of the contact info to send.

Wonder if this type of thing is in a utility patent of some type like the one Apple had on one clicking phone numbers/emails/etc to call/email people. Samsung went to war over that one.

LOL at anyone calling either of these OSes not intuitive. Literal toddlers can pick these up and be using them effectively with very little effort. Exaggeration gone too far here.

I'm ok with this because you can get a grilled salad at Zaxby's, but their tenders aren't as good as Cane's. Kinda limited on what you can get at Cane's. The novelty of Cane's has worn off now that it expanded to our area.
