Mortons when we had Allen Brothers beef. Head and shoulders above anyone else.

The Steak House in the San Luis Resort in Galveston Tx. Bone in ribeye was stupid good. I was there for four days on hurricane wait to go offshore. My boss wasn’t happy with my p-card bill. I ate it every night I was there!

I used to love steak but I have not grilled one this entire year and I have not ordered one in a restaurant. I don't know what is going on. I just don't have the appetite for a steak anymore. This past weekend my wife and I were eating at a nice place. I got the grilled scallops and she got a fillet. She sliced a piece off and gave it to me. It just didn't blow my hair back.
Can your taste change that much?

I rarely ever get steaks from a restaurant because I'm that pretentious guy that thinks he can cook it better than they can.
I agree with you in that cooking a steak isn't too dauting of a task; however, a good, classic steakhouse knows what they're doing. And who doesn't like a really good steak?
I can't recall the specific cut (it was almost a skirt steak), but the steak I had at Parrilla 1880 in Buenos Aires and the "Chicago Cut" at Gibson's in Chicago are the two best steaks that I've had.

Nothing is coming to mind as the best. For work I entertain a lot and it mostly all blends together. Pappas in Houston remains my go to as the best steakhouse in Houston. Incredible operation and longevity.
Trattoria Dall'Oste in Florence was memorable. Novelty enhances taste though.
I suspect Japan has options that would be hard to beat. Brazil and Argentina are bound to have some great stuff.

I went to the Morton's in Houston a few months back and it was a fantastic filet.

Georgia James in Houston. It was at the old location in Montrose. I haven’t been to the new spot on W. Dallas yet. Chris Shepard is an amazing chef so I’m sure the new location is fantastic as well.

Lowake steakhouse in Rowena tx for a ribeye.
Bentleys on the Lake of the ozarks for prime rib
Killens in Pearland tx for filet.
I’d leave today and go back to any one of those places if I could get my wife in the car.
I ate many a baseball cut sirloin at tj ribs, in Baton Rouge before it got too dark.
The secret to a great steak is good beef. If you want great beef, you have to pay for it.

It was either Chicago Cut or RPM Steakhouse in Chicago.
I ordered a ribeye, medium rare. It came to the table with a dark crust surrounding it. The waiter announced it as medium rare. I was skeptical because it looked very well done.
That bastard was a glorious pink in the middle as it should be. But the heavily seared and slightly salty crust MADE it the best steak I have ever had.
