Venice question

Posted by Shotgun Willie on 4/20/25 at 8:40 am
We will arrive on afternoon of June 7. Leave the 9th for Florence. Other the Doge Palace is there anything we need to get tickets to see? They are having a huge boat regalia that Sunday so will try to see that. We are staying in an Airbnb near train station.
We attempted to buy a Lakehouse here in KC this weekend after only being on market 2 days. We offered 5k over asking. Had to go back with another offer and lost out. Need market here to get soft. Ha

Saw him play Hal and Mals in Jackson Ms once in late 90s. He threatened to beat a dudes arse if he didn’t quit leaning on the stage. Good times!
When we did Rome to Pompeii last year it was a full day. We only did Naples after Pompeii.
Rathskeller used to be awesome but haven’t been there in years
I’ve got tickets for his show here in KC in a few weeks.

Lake Como Restaurants/Bars

We will be staying in Varrenna for three days the first week of June. Any must do restaurants or bars you recommend? We will have our 12 yr old picky eater with us, although she did learn last year in Italy to eat plain pizza with olive oil and cheese

We were just there little over a week ago. It stopped the day arrived on island and started again after we left. Still very cool to see
Rachio is the way to go. Bought mine couple years ago when my rainbird sensor wouldn't ever work. The Rachio app is pretty cool because you can just start/stop yourself whenever you want from anywhere. Very easy to setup.

Only drive through it going to Texas from KC. Looks pretty nice from what I’ve seen. Good luck.

For Rome definitely book a guided tour for the Colosseum and Vatican. We did both last year, do the earliest one you can for the Vatican. We did the underground along with the Forum for the Colosseum. We are going back to Italy this June and are doing Milan, Lake Como, Venice and Florence. I've booked everything myself. We are doing a couple of guided tours, but I mostly bought tickets through the venues themselves (Last Supper, David, etc.)
