No one was more excited about the Bates Salty Hundo than me. Ive gotten to use it several times now and the performance is just not there. It doesnt cast as far as my older model curado, and the brake system isnt nearly as good. Yes its built like a tank but it needs the performance to match.
Ive never used a Lews reel once in my life, but two of the best inshore guys I know of on the Texas coast that fish more in a month than I do in two years have used them for years.
