re: Los Angeles Conference Beginning of March - 632627 on 2/16/19 at 12:07 am
Conference is in this area so I can go out here night of conference.
There’s a lot of happy hour happenings because of all the big offices and professionals that work down there. At night the bar scene is decent. It’s not pretentious like Hollywood. There are some mostly lower ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Los Angeles Conference Beginning of March - 632627 on 2/15/19 at 6:17 pm
Some things I don’t recommend: -San Diego Gaslsmp district -Hollywood and Highland -Downtown LA -Santa Monica/ Pier -Legoland
Gaslamp district is good for bar hopping only, and is good for someone looking to party. Hollywood is a huge tourist trap. It sucks. Avoid at all...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: What is the most overrated restaurant you have been to?? - 632627 on 2/14/19 at 11:22 pm
The most overrated period is Peter Lugars which has 1 star but that has more to do with how they cook steak than the quality of the food.
Agreed. Peter Lugers is fine, but it’s nowhere near the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to, and it’s highly overrated. I far prefer Ruth’s ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: CA officially abandons plan for high speed rail connecting sf to la - 632627 on 2/12/19 at 7:09 pm
True, but rail is still cheaper and easier. Travel between Detroit and Chicago and Boston and Washington DC both via air and rail and then tell us which is cheaper, easier, with much less hassle and a better experience
Ehhh, lax fricking sucks, but smaller airports such as Burbank...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: CA officially abandons plan for high speed rail connecting sf to la - 632627 on 2/12/19 at 3:24 pm
There’s multiple airports in Los Angeles with service to Oakland, sfo and San Jose. It’s less than a 60 minute flight. Flights are dirt cheap. It seems this high speed rail line was a solution in search of a problem....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)

re: What cities are on the rise? - 632627 on 2/11/19 at 2:16 pm
Most of those numbers are for the entire metro areas. So that leaves lots of room for sprawl (ex: PHX metro). Can easily live in the suburbs of those areas.
to me, living in a suburb does not equal "in the middle of nowhere". in a suburb, most necessities should still be within ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Thinking about cutting the cord - 632627 on 2/11/19 at 12:19 pm
Honestly I’m not saving money but I love not dealing with TV providers
streaming services are TV providers. the content is just delivered via a different manner. in terms of cord cutting vs. traditional cable/satellite, i think it's a matter of where you live. If you're in a r...

re: Anyone ever have any good experience buying A5 Wagyu online? - 632627 on 2/11/19 at 11:35 am
i think the American "waygu" may be the best bet for a whole steak
I’ve had American wagyu ribcap at a couple different restaurants that I enjoyed far more than the a5 I’ve had. It’s also half the cost....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Saw this on family feud last night.... - 632627 on 2/11/19 at 10:43 am
The marriage response was awful and was going to be zero for sure. The “4” response wasn’t bad, and zero was kinda a head scratcher. I guess the problem with someone hitting big the first round is that all the good answers are taken....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
Not a steak that you would want to eat 16 ounces of.
i've had a5 twice, and neither time was it something i really wanted to have more than a few ounces of. the marbling is so rich, that it's really something best had as a sampler/sharable. Much different experience than eating ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
