Sad to hear. I Will keep them in my prayers. I had an Indian friend in college with the same major. I don't if he and his sister are in India or stateside.

There are truly a staggering number of people in India. If herd immunity is reached at 70% immunization, you have to immunize 12% (that's 1/8, dontcha know) of the people on the fricking PLANET just to get India to herd immunity.
They're likely going to have to get there the hard way.

The violence as well. Hard to look at, but i pray India has peace. I have always envisioned going there to meditate at length and learn from a spiritual teacher. Now all I see is violence, rape, covid spike. It’s sad to see. I hope and pray and keep in my mind quite often of what’s happening there. Prayers for peace to India.

It’s not. That’s another Fauci lie. Louisiana, and much of the deep south is at less than 33% - not that we’re at herd immunity yet, but we’re getting close. Hopefully some of the flat-earth skeptics will wise up and get vaccinated. If we can get to 50% it will control this.
