Cases rising day to day..Most states have issued 12-18 hour lockdowns..no vaccines or oxygen available for everybody...things are dire and lot of close acquaintances have been severely affected. Please keep them in your prayers :(

Early on people questioned why it hadn't spread through India like wildfire. It is surprising that it took this long, and it is sad that it is this bad.
Now, think about the fact that china has even more people than India. Look at what is going on in India, and listen to them tell us again that china got this shite under control in a matter of months.

I have heard they are in a tough situation. I believe one of the major vaccine manufacturers is in India, though. Unless there is a supply chain problem or trouble distributing the vaccine, they should be able to get a handle on the situation pretty quickly.

Well there’s two problems. One is they sold much of their vaccines early on. Secondly is their population is just too damn large. It’s take forever and so much resources to vaccinate even a tiny portion of the population.
And not quite related to the vaccine, but India has lots of corruption. It’s not a guarantee resources sent there won’t be swooped up by some higher up government officials.

Im really interested in why it didn’t hit them hard way sooner. They seem like a perfect situation for spread.
