Sunday Early Morning LIVE Thread for a Variety of Events. Spoiler. Emphasis on Team USA.

Two more Gold Medals awarded to start Sunday in Paris.
South Korea takes the Gold in 10M Air Pistol for the Ladies.
China takes the Gold in the same event for the Men.
USA does not have a Men’s or Women’s Team in the Team Archery Events with Medals being awarded shortly. Excited for 2028, when we’ll get auto qualifiers in every event.

All I know is that you want as few Soviet Union Judges as possible when you are Team USA.
In a sport much easier to score, I am excited about USA Men’s Water Polo opening up action in less than two hours against Italy. Italy is a favorite to Medal. USA is currently not forecasted by Oddsmakers to Medal. Big W if Team USA can get it.
In men’s hoops action, USA is currently a 13.5 Point Favorite versus Serbia today.

I have an explainer in the gymnastics thread.
Team USA will be in the Team Final.
Simone hurt her ankle yet still posted a very high score.
Suni will be the 2nd US athlete in the all-around, with Simone.
Jade Carey was good on vault, hopefully she is in the event final, but she really had a bad day on floor, and she's the defending Olympic champ on floor. She won't be going to that final.
Nerves early for the team. Not a bad performance but they'll need to clean it up a bit for finals.

Skateboarding starts today doesn’t it? I’ll say as someone that used to skate (not very well), I have a lot of respect for the difficulty for what they do.
With that said, as a tv product for neutral observers they should’ve gone with very over street. Think Shaun White and snowboarding and the pipeline they use. You don’t have to know how to snowboard or skate to enjoy people going up and down large ramps.

American men’s ping pong player Khanuk Jah won his round of 64 match against a Korean. Was a great match, won 4 games to 2

That is awesome. It is his first time in 3 Olympics advancing to the Round of 32.
I just read that belongs to a Table Tennis Club in Northern California. You can take a 55 minute private lesson from him for $65 there.
I could actually see myself flying to the Bay one day just to take an hour table tennis lesson from an Olympian.
Hope he keeps winning and his rate goes up!
