Sure a lot of you don’t love Apple because it’s a California company, but they are down a lot in china (and asia in general). If they continue to lose ground, it could be said that the largest companies in the world may no longer be American but rather Chinese or Indian. We need to protect our IP from these Asian companies which steal without remorse imo. If these companies had to spend as much on R&D then they couldn’t compete.

I think Chinese government is subsidizing to reduce American influence

You do know Apple does a lot of their development work overseas, right?

O rly?

The largest Chinese company has a market cap of $370B, before their economic collapse.

The US has 16 companies larger, with our largest being over $3T.

Or play the game equally or more dirty than they do. We should be infiltrating their society as much as they are infiltrating and sadly shaping and molding ours.

Other countries look out for their own interests. It's laudable.

We should try it here.

What technological advancement has China made since gunpowder? Honestly I’m asking. Does China develop anything these days or do they simply steal the advances and mass produce them more cheaply?

Any evidence that they're more efficient than anyone else?

That would be Japan though, right? Japan is known for the development of Kaizen strategy and Motorola developed 6 sigma, so maybe American as well? I think China employs it, but I’m not sure they created/developed it.

Apple is diversifying their manufacturing a bit. They are manufacturing the iPhone 15 and 15 plus in India.

I don’t think our textbooks are keen on showing Chinese metrics

I used to have concern about buying knock off and off brand copy cat products, but not anymore. Every company using China manufacturing has full knowledge their product is going to be copied and sold for lower prices in discount retailers. They brought this up on themselves and they have not stopped using China still today so screw them.

Amazon is almost nothing but knockoff of me brands and I see no complaints from the brand names.

I’d argue if they didn’t use China they would have lost the battle earlier.

The issue is China doesn’t respect intelligence property

You are clueless.

Xiaomi and Oppo/Oneplus make great phones. Oneplus works with Leica and Xiaomi works with Hassenblade on their cameras for example. Innovation wise, they are ahead of Apple. .

If anything, Apple will copy them in five years.

We should have invested into cheap labor in Central and South America. Not communist China. That was just stupid.

Or Apple could just buy Leica which now that I think about it I'm puzzled why they haven't already.
