Something no one is recognizing with the CFP committee. Based on their explanation for excluding ND, ND did not have a path to the CFP despite being in the CFP top 10 every week.

They say Miami did not jump ND until BYU lost to TT in the B12 CG. Had BYU won that game, ND and Miami would have been out if they kept Alabama in.

This just proves that the CFP really did lead ND and fans along the whole time with no real intention of selecting them for the CFP.
All in the OP is true, but what is ironic is that it the boomers that did not raise their kids the same way and built a population of weak, entitled ridden, do nothing, liberal activists.

had joined the ACC they would have been in the CCG

This is the dumbest statement I see across this board today. If you play good football it should not come down to whether you are in a conference or not.

It's the game on the field that matters. You people are way to consumed with conference ideology instead of the game being played. ND is not joining a conference an no conference will ever boycott them for not joining a conference.

BTW, I did not like ND growing up because they sucked and were on TV all the time. I picked up on them last year because of how they play under Freeman. Now I am glad they are on every week because they are fun to watch right now.
If you watched football and not just homer SEC, you would wish your team had Marcus Freeman and played his brand of football.

Those guys are disciplined and get after it. They got robbed this year, no other way to look at it.

Sounds like the same rule Alabama mad after missing the CFP last year. There is no other explanation for the manipulation of Bama ranking the last three weeks.
This is a backdoor way of telling conferences to fix their tie breaker system, because the CFP committee is no longer going to protect the loser of championship game, or a 3rd,4th,5th conference team.

What will be the SEC cry if this was in affect this year. Would Alabama knock OU out because the lost the SECCG? Miami would not be able to jump over the teams in the ACCCG.
The teams playing in the bowl games have not been the same starters that played during the season. Too many player opting out due to portal or draft.

No team with 2 losses to unranked teams should ever be in the top 15. There are no wins that should overcome those losses.

The SEC has become a bunch of whiny entitled schools. The selection committee protected Alabama because Alabama would become insignificant if they missed the CFP two years in a row.

Saban, ABC/ESPN did their bidding for them. Now we get lame rematch of Alabama vs OU and ole Ms and Tulane.

ND has one of the most dynamic offenses and defenses in college football this year. They would have beat any SEC team in the playoffs.

Then there is Miami, a team that could not even get to the weak ACC championship game because it lost to weak SMU and Louisville. But Miami jumps the top two ACC teams to go to the CFP.

If you are going to have conferences, have them mean something. Why play in a conference if you are going to rehash the season in a supposed playoff?

I am ok with this if conferences only get to submit one team to 8 team playoff field. Conference have to have some meaning. Replaying conference games in the playoffs is stupid!

Why won't the top SEC schools schedule home and away games with ND? Because they don't want the non conference competition. Dey scared of ND.

The hypocrisy is that if losing a playoff game should not hurt a team, then all cc teams should have an automatic in with the CFP. I don't see anyone arguing that BYU and N Texas should be in.

You steal the best teams from the ACC to add to the SEC. Then you have an SEC only playoff. Keep all the money and watch the CFP die

So you think you can have a SEC conference playoff substitute a national playoff?

Not excuses, just extenuating circumstances to two losses to two top 5 teams by a combined 4 pts. No blowouts losses and no big upset losses.

Say the same for Miami and Bama?!

Still, leaving them out = no more big 10 championship, no more sec championship.

Not a chance. No way the conferences sacrifice that money for a team that was the 5th conference team in the CFP going into the conference championship game.
ND beats every SEC in the CFP. Ohio St and Indiana are the only teams that would be a challenge.

People do not realize that ND had a new DC this season that did not comprehend the talent and capability he had to play man defense. Once that issue was resolved, ND defense has been absolutely dominating

Also, in the aTm game, ND freshman QB was unknowingly tipping plays calls and ND still put up 40pts.

It's 2025 and the BCS no longer exists.

and its victory at home was at the beginning of the season

And it was a 3 point win for Miami at home which is the spread given to a home team.

Also, ND started a redshirt freshman playing his first game and had a new DC that did not know how to play ND man coverage defense.

If the committee leaves out the SEC runner up, you best believe that Sankey and the SEC office will let it be known that they will not be re-upping with the CFP.

LOL!! You think the SEC would burn the goose when they still get 4 teams in the CFP, and make $$$ from the SECCG?

Not a chance. No other conference would join them in that fight.

The real problem is still the fact that there’s a committee.

No, the real problem is that a some mediocre big schools that finish 3-6 in their own conference now think they deserve automatic berths since they have 8 additional spots.
